During a recent service/revalve, it became apparent that the anodizing inside the damping cartridge tube (where the midvalve piston slides) has worn away. These cartridges were pretty mediocre anyway, even after lots of work, and I'd like options to replace them.
As I see it my options are:
1) find OEM cartridges/tubes and rebuild. Is there a source? I vaguely remember Technical Touch could get individual parts like these...
2) Traxxion AK-20 cartridges. Good quality bot completely lack bottom out system. I don't think I'd go this route, especially after seeing the damage in a buddy's F800 with these installed (he bottoms frequently and EXPLODED both spring seats.
3) Ohlins FKA106 cartridges. These look far and away the best - upgraded bottom out system, 30mm damping, high quality system. I'm leaning towards these. Where is the best place to buy these?
Anything I missed?
