I have seen the question asked in several threads if these 2 products are compatible.

It couldn't be easier!

The 2 Rumbux rear frame mount tabs attach to bolts that have nothing to do with the Givi bars.
The 2 front mount tabs on the Rumbux lowers share the same mounting point as the Givi "Tube" mounts use. 1 on each side. (The most forward of the tube mounts)

If you simply remove the 4 bolts that are inside the tubes on the Givis, they are still held in place by the other attachment points. But the Tube mounts are now loose enough to pull the Givi tubes away from the frame enough to swing the Rumbux mounting tabs up into position.

Now you simply replace the tube bolts with the appropriate longer ones. Note, that because the Rumbux tab is in between the Tube and frame, the other Givi tube needs some kind of washer(s) to make up for the Rumbux tab thickness.

Now your Tenere is ready to roll over and play dead.

Nice work and they look good to boot. That might be enough protection for Big Bend. ::013::

Nice looking setup. Good to know that the Givi's & Rumbux lower work together given that I just offloaded my givi's to an inmate here! :D

I'm sure you're note on the bolts being too long will help someone out, though.

I really like that decal set Jaxon makes. I wish Iowa had a cool flag like texas...that things just screams 'MURICA!

Closer look. And rare pic of a clean Tenere at my place. :)

So Karson, you going with Rumbux full set?

I wish your snow would melt so you would quit farkling. I can't keep up. :)

Yep - I got in on the early April delivery date order. I'm done farkling for a bit, but it seems every winter I binge a little ::010:: That'll give you some time to catch up! ::26::

You bet. I would not miss, unless my wrist does not heal up. I sprained it really bad about 4 wks ago, and the doc wants to do MRI and cast it..
I told him it would have to wait until after March 11. ::025:: He already thinks I'm crazy..

Thanks for the info - I am about to perform this exact same combo. One question - did you have any problem getting the Givi radiator support to line up? When I was looking at this last night I thought that was going to screw the whole thing up. My Givi bars were installed by the PO and also a skid plate - SW Motech maybe, that I am getting rid of. Been sitting on the Rumbux project all winter. :-(

Not at all. In fact, once you unhook the 4 Givi "tube bolts", you discover Yamaha cleverly built in a lot of radiator movement. You don't see that visually when you look at it in static form.

As I stated, after mentally preparing for a possible laborious task of installing the Rumbux lowers with the Givi uppers already mounted, I was amazed at how little effort it took. The Italians and the South Africans may not have collaborated, but the 2 products are a perfect match.

I think you will be pleased. And I KNOW you will get that feeling you have bash-proofed your engine far more than the minimum.

Report back if I'm crazy. :)

I like the combination though in my case I would prefer the lower rumbox only.
That is available, since you're 'local', talk to your local Rumbux dealer. I have been ordering the lower bash frame w/skid plate 2 Part kit for the US customers for a while now.

You're not crazy!

As you described this was a piece of cake. Interestingly, I found that all of the bolts I had were slightly shorter than the ones supplies by Rumbux - probably the Givi as opposed to factory? In any case, the shorter ones seemed to be better - they were sufficiently long enough to go all the way through and they didn't protrude dangerously close to anything. I thought the ones supplied were too long as you point out in your pics. The radiator had plenty of wiggle room so that was a non-issue. The combo looks great and more importantly, the bash plate is far beefier than the SW-Motec it replaced. I'll be cleaning that up and selling it for someone that doesn't intend to bash the crap out of it.

Thanks for the pics and info - saved me a bunch of guessing!

She says you don't know me.

Regardless, your Tenere is robustly protected.
