Riding noise

Hi, I ride a 2012 with 113,000 kms and I am experiencing a strange high pitch whirring noise at highway speeds. This has been occurring for a long time. If the bike is vertical the sound is negligible, but when the bike leans in either direction, even a small amount, the noise increases significantly. It became more noticeable with the installation of a new rear tire. I am running Anakee Adventure series and this is the second set. I don't think this is a tire issue but I am at a loss as to a possible cause. Could it be a mechanical issue, maybe stress on a wheel bearing? I would appreciate any feedback and suggestions to solve this issue. Thanks, Jerry

yes sounds like a possible right rear wheel bearing issue, if you look closely at the center hub that holds the ABS sensor you might notice it’s rubbing on the bottom If the bearing is bad.
113,000 KMS is roughly 70,000 miles, my right rear wheel bearing failed at 45,000 miles.

I would check them out for cracks between the treadblocks. Met someone who had a newish set and they were cracking.

I’ve noticed that after new tires, even on Anakee 3’s, once scuffed in I either get use to it or they round out.
I’ve had one wheel bearing that got screwed during a front wheel install. More of mechanical grinding sound.

Relax, it's just the tires. I've had a set of front wheel bearings go bad on another bike, and there was no associated noise. I didn't even realize I had a problem until I noticed the wobbly handling at low speeds. On the other hand, almost every bike I've ever owned has produced some form of tire noise, some when new, others when worn, and it occurs exactly as described - when the bike is leaned over. Most of the time I can't hear it at all wearing ear plugs.

Hi, I had all 5 bearings and seals replaced and the noise is still there. Anyone riding Anakee Adventures and experiencing highway noise?
Do a Google search for Anakee Adventure tire noise. You'll read lots and lots of complaints about noise. It's a known noisy tire. Some feel Anakee 3s were even worse.

Front tire noise is common. Especially on a worn tire, and it's most often noticed the moment you lean away from strait, because those tire knobs are less worn than the center ones. Some tires will howl like mad in corners due to cupping and other normal wear. Nothing is "wrong" with the bike or tire when this happens, it's just a dynamic of tire wear.

That is exactly the same experience I have with the Anakee Adventure tires I'm running at the moment - aside from the noise the tires perform really well and last a long time.
