carrot and myself decided to take a chance and ride to Kerrville , it was ok.... we met Friday morning for breakfast in Buda to make our decision , after checking radar and looking out the window we went.... and 5 miles into it we get rain, I cant see well rain, we stop and watch a helicopter land and wonder who was crazier us or the pilot.... 5 miles out of dripping springs we run out of the rain, and it was pretty good all the way to Kerrville... in Kerrville some cop pulls along side of me as we ride through town and he takes my picture, not sure what that was about a new one for me... got to the park checked in and set up our tents then went to eat.... by this time we decide to just relax at park and that's Friday.... wake at 5 am Saturday and the rain starts to come down , we ride to breakfast we stay there for an hour and a half... manager starting to stare , we go to starbucks( a very nice starbucks with a great view of the Guadalupe river) and have coffee (we are dripping water pretty good ) after an hour or so back to camp. still raining around 2 pm we head out for lunch, and after its back to camp... around 4 or so the rain finally stops .... we are tired as an amorous couple decide to make loud conversation all night long and kept us awake ( not what you might think, he did a lot of talking and she wasn't buying ) when the rain started that Saturday morning they left... so they (weather people) are saying the rain is ending, we wake up to more rain this morning so we break camp and head off into the rain for breakfast and home... well what fun could that have been , and on some levels it wasnt all that fun because of the weather... but I had good company ( side bar, carrot won the door prize for having travelled the farthest to Kerrville, you will have to ask him what it was) and though we didn't get to do three sisters the slick streets of Kerrville were scary enough... its not always the ride , its more who you ride with...it was wet and it was miserable and we didn't do the things most people would say you would need to do to have fun,but I am glad we did it, it is a memory...

carrot is a great rider and easy to get along with but he can't make up for all that rain. Lol
I picked a good time to leave the state. Left Wed morning and took two days riding to NC. Rode dirt Fri and Sat there and flew back today. Not a single drop of rain. Returning next weekend for more and then ride the bike back.

My respect to you brave guys ::012:: I'm sorry but I wimped out, put the bike in the container and will just take it out now. I guess now would be a good time to ride around if you like mud

To be honest I would have not went if it wasn't for madhatter we where planning on leaving out Thursday morning but my rain gear hadn't arrived until late afternoon. So we decided to leave out early Friday and just as I was about to get on the bike it started to rain I was thinking this is crazy called madhatter he said just drive to Buda and we will talk about it the whole way it was raining on me I was like there's no way we're going but there was no way of talking madhatter out of it so kudos to him for keeping me off the couch all weekend ::008::

So I took this heavy bike out of the container and... it just sank right in front of the container and got stuck ::010::

Three lessons learned:
1. I need to build a concrete ramp.
2. These K60's are worthless in the mud.
3. The Jesse bag mounts are great for pulling with a strap!

Anyway, yeah, let's schedule it again!

k60 are great but not so much in mud... one good thing about wet weather camping, makes you really appreciate your bed when you get home... some lessons I learned , as with any newby m/c camper I did not pack well now have a better idea what I need. probably best to stay home, but it is doable and can be done safely(people don't look for you when dry less so when wet) need a tent that has more room in it as the rain falls you will be spending some time there. may consider a redverz tent at some point, you can stand in it has parking for the bike and an area for gear, or you can use that space to hang out in ... your motor clothing choices will impact your comfort level and your ability to endure the weather. I was completely dry the whole time , the gear I have worked. the only part of me that got wet was my face as I ride mostly with the shield open to some degree. we were going to leave on Thursday but carrots rain gear had not arrived and at the last moment I decided that my boots were not going to work. so I bought a pair of redwings water proof work boots , 225.00 model 400. dry feet the whole time and the old work boots were more like sponges . and you can be wet and be ok,but wet feet will shorten your day. my over pants are Olympia (forget the model name) have armor and zippers that go to belt line for easy on and off and are water proof. my jacket is an aerostich darian , it was perfect not a drop of water got to me... first gear rain gloves worked well (for got to put them up and they soaked in the rain all Saturday night so had a little dampness) . the biggest negative of my gear is my pinlock shield went bad just before trip so could not close shield when rain got heavy and that was effecting my ability to see . some other points, tar snakes are more slippery when wet, lots of wind on ride home plus wet made it interesting.... and carrot likes to ride sideways when ever he can....
