I just resprung my gen 1. Not sure where to start with the dampning. The rear was revalved and resprung for my 235lbs by Norwest suspension. Got the rear sag right. I got .95 springs for the front with no revalve. I would appreciate some help on where to start with the clickers.

Assuming you are running the same oil weight as last year the stiffer spring should need a bit more rebound damping and maybe slightly less compression. Hopefully you have that info written down somewhere.

I had 7wt last year and was running 5 clicks out rebound and 12 clicks out compression most of the time. I would have switched to 10wt to get a bit more rebound damping, but found some online info that the compression valves have really small holes. I was concerned it would make the front even more harsh so I stayed with that.

If I was to do it again I would stick with 5 weight. The harshness bothered me more than the lack of rebound, so I would probably have ended up at 3-5 clicks out on rebound using 5 weight. Compression probably 10-12 out.

When I had the cartridges apart this winter I was surprised how small the holes were in the compression piston. I am sure this is why I experienced the harshness when trying to use slightly thicker oil.

I put everything in the middle except for the preload. Its definitely better. I'm gonna be monkeying around with it some more. After I put the springs in. I rode 30 miles and had a fork seal leaking its ass off. WTF. Fixed it with a homemade seal saver
