I was just about to remove the mounts for the Hardcases but I noticed a strange looking bolt that is holding it on, looks like a Hex head but there is a centre part to it. How do I get this bolt off?

You need a security or sometimes called safety torx bit. Not sure of the size at work and don't have a set to check here. Like @gv550 said my top of the head guess is 50.

If you live near a harbor freight they will have a set for under $10. Or hit amazon.
Don't think we have any Harbor Freights in Canada but I would think Princess Auto will have it, similar type store. Will pop and confirm that later tonight...Thanks guys...

I had to get mine from Amazon, why are you removing?

The brackets are light, provide good tie down spots and i i haven't hurt them in many offroad blunders when the bags are off.

I got some soft bags, Altrider Hemisphere ones, and I have to remove the mounts for the hard bags to mount the loop type brackets on in their spot.
