Removing front fairing?

I just checked my 2015 standard with 17,200 miles and it is not broken (yet).

Wondering if the vendor supplied support brackets would help prevent this type of breakage?? I am going to order a set for $25.00 = money well spent as I run a tall windshield.

I did a superman get-off through the windshield. I now have to replace the stay. There's a long bolt through it that holds it against the steering. it looks like I either need to take out the ignition or pull the top of the triple tree to have enough room to pull the bolt and insert the new fairing stay. Any advice? I don't see how to get the ignition out? Pulling the triple apart seems like overkill.
