Hi looking for a bit of help, I have 2012 Tenere with 9000 miles and the problem I have is when ticking over it appears to stall and then suddenly picks up and revs to 1300 or 1400 before returning to 1000 on númerouse occasions, Also on occasion the engine justs cuts out when comming of the throttle at lights or roundabouts. Any ideas
Thanks Tony

Have any of the little tuning tricks been done to the bike yet? A couple being; balancing the throttle bodies; and causing the ecm to allow more CO2 (enrichen) to pass the O2 sensors.

It sounds like as a fuel issue. Have you refuel from a third rate gas station, or used some eco-friendly fuel? It reminds me very much the behavior of my 885i Triumph Tiger after I filled it with SP95-10 in France....
Before wrenching up, make sure the fuel is right.

If this is not the case, so many options, including defective sensors. Better ask a competent dealer.

Thanks for the advice but have taken it to a Yamaha dealer and spent £400.00 labour to find out they were unable to diagnose the fault, it appears they swapped a lot of parts from there demo Yamaha and still unable to find the answer, they seem to think it is a mechanical problem but when the bike is running there are no out of the ordinary noises and it goes pretty well so I am under the opinion this is some sort sensor problem, I just wonder if anybody has had the same problem
Thanks Tony

Similar but not exactly as described. Mine suddenly started idling poorly cutting one cylinder at idle. Would run ok once speed was up. Seemed electrical but eventually turned out to be water in the fuel filter. I was able to backflush the filter of quite a bit of muck and some water. I doubt a shop would do that rather they will sell you the complete pump filter assembly. It was back to normal after getting rid of the water.
Also have a good look for vacuum leak at the hose connection on the throttle bodies and the cap on the other port. But I would hope a shop would look for stuff like that.
Good luck with your search
