Compact? I'm not sure this would qualify, but I finally found GoCot from www.campingcot.com. I comes in kids, regular and tall sizes. I have the tall at 7 ' 1" long. It's the only one I found that folds in thirds and makes it shorter than the distance across the panniers. It keeps you about 6" off of the ground and with the integrated Thermarest pad and end sleeves to hold it in place, it's the best nights sleep while camping I've had.

I have used this for several years. You need to assemble it each time but it only takes 5 minutes tops once you have done it a few times. Like sleeping on air. Will not consider camping without it. The Alaska trip was 20 days of camping and never had a bad back or a bad nights sleep. Highly recommended ::008::

I paid over $200 for this from the original manufacturer through Aerostich

I now see it either copied or licensed for a lot less

Here is a good deal

+1 on this cot. I was ready to give up camping after 40 some years of sleeping outdoors. This cot brought me back to loving camping and looking forward to another good night's rest.

Not an endorsement as I've never used it, but I saw this cot recently.

If you use any of these cots in cold weather you will need at least a closed cell foam pad to top.

No question regarding the Luxurylite (sold by Aerostich and REI) as a great compact cot. My better half and I did over 20 days last fall camping/exploring. I can (still) sleep anywhere/anyhow but she is extremely particular about her 'bedding' and felt it was always a great nite sleep for her. Pricey? Yes, however, the more you use it the less it costs!
