Hey guys..

I just bought a Racetech 19.6k rear spring for my S10. I asked the dealer whether I needed a spacer or not and he told me that if it did, it will come with the spring. I just got it and no spacer. The spring measures 7 7/8in tall. Can anyone tell me if this spring needs a spacer? I just want to double check as I've read that most aftermarket springs usually need a spacer. Thanks!

For a '12 or '13 model, the stock spring free length is 8.39 inches. I don't have the shop manual for the later models.
Tabasco sells spacers http://rideonadv.com/

Or, if you have access to a lathe, I have a drawing I can send you.

well...turns out I needed two more parts in order to install spring. A collar and a spacer, which was NOT mentioned to me at time of spring purchase. I have them now and hopefully will have time to install relatively soon. Thanks for the responses guys!!

Can someone tell me the stock spring rates for the 2012 S10 front and rear. Also where is the best place to buy stiffer springs? I weigh 265 lbs so stock is not cutting it. Thank you.

The stock springs are dual progressive, which can react weird at times. Regarding 'where' to get new springs, you'll get a bunch of suggestions (including do a search of this forum). My advice is to do what I did....Contact Rick at Cogent Dynamics. He can replace your rear shock (without aftermarket seats and collars, and make your currently non-rebuildable rear shock rebuildable, for under $400. And he can address the front fork issue as well. Cogent may not be as sexy as throwing on a new Penske, Ohlins or Race Tech, but it is cost effective and, for me at least, gets the job done. Obviously, I'm very happy with my results..
