Thinking my rear shock may be a little tired (2011 20k miles) is the original unit rebuildable and if so any recommendations for the UK ?

I’d say give MCT a call, they have a great reputation and are usually very helpful.

Depending on your weight, bags, gear, terrain, ETC. Maybe consider a stiffer spring or even an after market set up that can be rebuilt "more easily than stock"

Thanks for the advice guys. Having spoken to a couple of suspension firms I’ve ordered a Nitron shock. I’ll be fitting it at home , let you know how it goes.

Make sure you get a custom build from Nitron. They will build it specifically to your weight + pillion and luggage weight etc. No extra cost

View attachment 94660View attachment 94661 Well the new shocks arrived. Frustratingly prob can’t fit until next week.
Make sure it's the right one before you take the old shock off. I discovered they'd sent me someone else's half way through the swap, it was too short. I had to wait for the right one to turn up by express delivery a few days later.

Also use something (grease, weak glue) to keep the bolt hole spacers in place whilst fitting so they don't drop out and get lost in the depths of a bash plate or similar. From memory they are zip tied in place during delivery, but obviously the ties have to be removed to fit.

Cheers. I’ve actually fitted it early this morning. The only issue I’ve had is the bottom bolt is too short , the new shock fitting is thicker material than the original, car spares shop next to work have given me a bunch of bolts to try so fingers crossed.
