Well, I may have made myself a target, but recently installed an AdMore light bar with "smart brake" technology. It is kind of expensive but seems pretty cool. Impresses my buddies.

I second the 3M reflective stuff on the bags. I have silver on my aluminum Tenere bags and black on another bike with black bags. They really light up when the headlights hit them.

Wonder why amber front turn signal lights are always on (2016 ST) and rear signal lights only come on when turn signal is activated? Seems it would be logical to have both front and rear signal lights on all the time.

Deceleration activated brake lights are growing in popularity. I backed the https://vololights.com/ kick starter a couple of years back, which is a license plate frame with aux brake lights activated by deceleration (lights are weak compared to Skene/Hyper-Lites and they activate on every slight bump, I don't have it mounted any longer). Skene has this feature now too https://www.skenelights.com/online-store/P3-Lights-with-Decelerometer-p83618626 as does Safer Turn https://www.safer-turn.com/us/smart-brake-module/ and Gear Brake https://gearbrake.com/. There's at least one other that I'm aware of, but the name escapes me at that moment.

some one say politics....... already have bans on cell phone use , but from my elevated perch ( cab of class 8 truck ) it has not changed any ones habits....95 out of a hundred cars that pass me are using their phones.... and women seem to be the worst ..... add to putting on make up or what ever else women do while driving ( course men are just as bad in our on way ) its bad out there.... so extra lights to catch some ones attention is a good thing.... I generally stop at least one car length behind vehicles just in case I get rear ended , don't want to be the baloney in that sandwhich ...
I was riding into Santa Fe today on the interstate and see this little Jelly Bean car swerving around in the fast lane then moves over to the middle lane.
I look over and this Teenage girl barely can see over the steering wheel is looking up primping her eyelashes in the visor mirror..
I was like WTF are you from the shallow end of the moron pool?????  Makes me want to go Mad Max sometimes..

My opinion is you do the best you can but if someone is more interested in their phone, kids in the back seat, burger that fell in their lap, etc then no matter what you do will count for much. I frequently see idiots cutting off and merging into ambulances and fire trucks with sirens and lightbars.....If people are missing those we're up shit creek no matter what with some of the idiots on the road.

That being said on my 2012 one of the OEM turn signals broke so I took the opportunity to install these turn signals. They have running lights as well as turn and brake, front is white running and yellow turn, and rear is red running, red very bright brake, and yellow turn. As an added plus they are insanely small so less likely to get snagged or broken. They don't look like much when not on but I've had my girl behind me in her car back quite a distance in broad daylight and she confirmed they were way more noticeable and brighter than the OEM lights despite their size. There is a huge huge difference in quality LED's and bargain bin LED's which is people like me carry $200 Surefire flashlights for their job instead of cheaper ones.

I also run a Givi V47 top case since I really wasn't a fan of the box shaped top boxes and in that I have their light kit which is two light strips for brake lights which are also insanely bright.

https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-e135-led-brake-light-kit-for-v47-top-cases

And to top it all off I have a Supabrake 3 modulator which is an intelligent system that flashes or not based on time, duration, etc and is really nice and just clicks into the OEM harness under the seat in 5 minutes. I will be putting red reflective on the back of my side case edges and silver on the front side. My cases are Givi Dolomiti so want to keep the sleek look. If someone manages to ignore/not see all of that nothing is gonna stop them plowing into me and at that point my safety is dependent on me being observant and ready to GTFO of the way.

i am gathering my STUFF for this years winter project and adding some rear lights is high on the list. Mine is a 16 ES new to this summer and it comes with nice soft LED signals and tail lights. I have been eying these Skeene, P3 and Hyperlight systems or just adding a generic pair of small Tail & Brake lights, I am getting ready to order some connectors from East beaver but before i do I have some questions to the more experienced owners:
1) since all these supplemental tail light systems are LED's can i just tap into the appropriate line to drive them then or do i need a fused 12V line and tap into them for the signal only? And
2) where is the most convenient, dry, out of the way place, perhaps under the pillion seat i can find and tap into all these lines. or even better is there a connector somewhere i can break open and build a harness breaking out the appropriate signal and tail light wires?
I do use positaps if i have to but prefer breaking a connector open and making up a harness betwee them using a pair of new connectors.

Thx for the ideas and info

Bumping this post because I too have these questions about installing the Skene P3 rear lights.
Any help would be appreciated!

I'm also looking to add some rear brake lights. I noticed this post from Karson that shows a brake light connector that looks a lot like the front accessory light connector. Anyone know if it is the same connector type? If so, I might like to use one of these connectors instead of taping into the wires directly.
Also, is there a similar connector for the rear turn signal wires?
