Rear lights hidden behind panniers?

Just got my Bumot panniers on, they look great! Solid mount, nicely made. Easy install. Only thing that concerns me, is the way they block the lights on the back of the bike. Looks like there is no adjust-ability in the mount, and I don' think I'd want them further forward anyway. My shoe has hit them a few times. Do y'all figure those rear lights matter much off to the sides? Maybe I need to add yet another damn farkle- a rear light bar? The Ardmore looks interesting. https://admorelighting.com/product/admore-smt-light-bar-small/

Thoughts?

not given that problem much consideration , as I have not heard anyone complain that use the Bumot panniers , you might do a search here on the Bumots a lot of riders have them , maybe some one has addressed the issue . I use touratech panniers and have no issue seeing rear turn signals or taillight from 90 degrees . as I am not to familiar with your boxes I would say just make sure you put the rack together correctly if that is possible at all to reverse things... if this is the way they are designed then you might have to get creative, from adding lights to reflective tape... if you view my bike from the rear , I always ride with my boxes mounted , you would see taillight and turn signal and an added led in red that lights up when brake applied. also red reflective tape on both boxes to enhance reflectivity . and from the side you can see the tail light . hope this helps.

Thanks for the photo, Madhatter, I'll put mine on the center stand tomorrow, maybe snap a few photos. But I am pretty sure, those lights will not be showing.

Since the ones off to the sides are reflectors, I simply picked up some of the red and white reflective tape like truckers use for their trailers. Worked well on my panniers (not Bumots, but aluminum boxes nevertheless).

Ive recently been thinking about the same topic. Ive not moved forward with my project but I'm considering adding some LED brake / running / amber turn (all in one LED strip) to the back tube on the paneer racks. Ive applied these and wired them up many times on other projects. The rear tubes on my racks are obviously wide and almost to the rear of the bags. Might make me look brighter, wider, or just be a bit safer.

I think about this. It affects my lane changes. When in traffic I double check to make sure the relevant cars know I'm getting ready to change lanes or turn. Communication is important and turn signals are a big part of that communication. I had a top case and had planned on putting signals on the case but I changed my mind about a top case/trunk. (Now if other drivers only used their signal.....) But it is a viable concern.

Ya, that bit about the other drivers...... well, do what we can, I guess. I can control my actions, not theirs.

adding turn signals to the cases to increase visibility is a good thing . my thoughts are that as you add lights to the front (the triangle of safety ) it works the same in the rear . you would want them fairly wide and a little lower than taillight (make the drivers eyes react to the light spread ) and only have them light up when blinking , to catch the eye. just my thought.
