This was one of the early farkles I purchased for my 2012. Installed it and was never concerned for the rear brake reservoir.

This is not needed for the 2014+ ES. Not sure about the 2014+ Standard.

You are correct. From what I understand and what Hepco & Becker explained, the standard 2014 model can use this protection plate, and the ES does not need it.

These threads are killing me..mosre specifically my pocket book..that was one of the pieces that really spooked me out how vulnerable it looks to damage. Ordered this and was shipped quickly ::021::

Can't wait to see how "easy" it is for me to install :D

Satin black rattle can and 0000 steel wool when dry makes it look factory. :)
