Really digging my new Giantloop Fandango Pro (2018) Tankbag and Pannier Pockets!

Hi Chris,

I agree totally! Great products!

My brother has a bit newer version Buck and Roll and the pouches are the same as the one's I purchased.....do those pannier pouches detach from the harness? It's possible all you need is the tank bag and the mount it comes with....
Mine does not detach unfortunately. I actually chopped out the center bag so I could fit the Kriega bag in there. It,s still useful but beat to crap.

It's interesting, on the GL Yamaha facebook page, Harold (GL owner) just posted a pic with the coyote mounted to the back of a super T. You might want to hunt that down. It looks pretty good. It's laying flat and takes up part of the rear rack. hard to describe.
You would be better off with the Great Basin Saddlebag from GiantLoop. The Coyote is too narrow with the passenger grab handles. The Great Basin is made for the bigger ADV bikes. I have one and have used in on my GS , KLR and now Tenere. Great bags!

Sounds great but I would love to see a picture showing the filler access.
The Givi tankbag that I use uses a ring mount where you just press a button and the tankbag lifts off so I set it on the drivers seat while fueling. At night I carry the bag into a motel or where ever with me. So far I’ve used it for over 50,000 miles with absolutely no issues.
Which givi tank bag do you use? I’ve been looking at them but it’s tough to know what’s going to fit good?

Yah that's a badass tank bag, I've had mine since mid summer last year and it's great much better than the wolfman I had before it. Don't have the side pocket thingies might get them after seeing this thread. Thanks.

I am really digging it. Yeah I have a wolfman on my WR250R and while it's nice, the GL is in another class. Super easy to zip off completely and take off to the hotel or tent at night.

I have ran a cortech magnetized tank bag for about a decade and had early thoughts prior to mounting the Fandango that I might modify a harness with magnets but after using it I've found there isn't a need. It's a well thought out and easy system (in it's most recent interarion).

Like the side pockets too. Just to have some different compartments for things.

Best.

Agreed Giantloop stuff is miles above Wolfman, can you fit say gatorade or smart water bottles in them? The ones with the quick drink top.

The pannier pockets are 2 liters in capacity. They are semi ridged like the Fandango and Diablo tank bags so shape matters.... I am fairly certain you could fit the more narrow gatorade bottles (the quick drink top ones you mention) as well as some water bottles. (I actually carry one of those quick drink top gatorade bottles in the drink bottle holder on my Medium sized Motofizz bag. Fits perfect. I just buy the bigger bottles toss them inside the bag and refill during stops as needed).

Part of my hydration system on my LD rides has been to run a 2 liter hydration bladder inside my tank bag with the bite valve tube exiting out between the two zippers. I'm playing with this on the fandango which is a bit more narrow than my Cortech but taller vertically. I would consider running it out of one of the pannier pockets but since they only have a single zipper that operates away from the rider these would likely make the hose length too short to reach my mouth as I ride. (I've actually mentioned the zipper direction thing to Harold. Hopefully they consider changing that in the future - It's a really minor niggle but it would also make closing the pouches on bike easier...).

I really like keeping the water off my body and inside a bag as it tends to keep the water/ice mixture colder for a lot longer.

Speaking of hydration...I've gotten some ideas for improving my LD/Backcountry setup from some of the ultralite youtube hikers I like to watch (I'm not a hiker but can respect that these guys have their stuff figured out kit wise). I just setup a "modified" CNOC / Sawyer filter water bladder system the other night. Maybe I'll try and shoot some photos and post this on here somewhere....
in a different thread.

Cheers,

Awesome, yah please do with the pictures, I tend to keep a drink in the tank bag and a cooler in the top box but for longer rides ie.. interstate best solution I have at the moment is an Osprey Escapist 25 day pack with a water bladder which oddly enough comes from my ultralight backpacking days. Don't do that now though I have lower back injury.
