Uh . . . . that's horrible mileage. Mine is 43.4mpg (indicated), and 41.8mpg (calculated). My normal top speed is 75mph (+/-), with occasional excursions into triple digits. Most of the time I'm anywhere from 45-65mph. If I keep it a steady 60mph, I will get 60mpg. The only time that I've seen your mileage is when I'm doing 70mph into a 25mph+ headwind. I'm 300lbs, and usually don't have the boxes mounted. I'm always in "S". It's a '17.

So, if you're usually hauling ass, all loaded up into a headwind . . . . you're mileage is normal. Otherwise it's way too low.

EDIT: the above information is all true, but as Stefan reminded me . . . . I don't ride for mileage. I ride as needed to deal with traffic. If I was more patient, I am sure I could get 4/5 additional mpgs. As previously stated, a bike this big with the power that it has . . . . getting the mileage it does, is greatness.

Sierra is right, I don’t ride economical but am getting 19km to the liter for 5 years straight. Think that is around 46mpg. Only RON98 (or higher) for my darling.

I average 42-43mpg and I ride all sorts of stuff from endless slab at 80mph to technical twisties at 25mph and it never really changes.

Have you thought about running a couple cycles of fuel injection cleaner? I've had success scavaging a few mpg in cars and trucks doing that.

My mileage is mid 40s a lot of aggressive throttle on gravel roads and twisties, a lot of standing and at 6’4 that’s quite the wind drag. Then once on the final push home speeds increase dramatically.

Which fuel-injection cleaner are you a fan of?

I'm not too picky. I've used Seafoam at 3oz-4oz per gallon and it's given acceptable results. I prefer actual fuel injection cleaner though, but hey, in a pinch Seafoam has worked. It just takes a little longer (aka a full tank or two).

For true injection cleaner, I like Lucas, Techron or STP. Lucas is sort of my go-to but I am not married to it. If I can't find Lucas or one of the others is on sale I go with them. They are all pretty comparable.

Keeping track of mpg has always been a habit with anything I drive
my 2018 always gets considerably better mpg than my previous 2013 did
I keep up with mileage now too. 04 4x4 F250 gets 12mpg. 17 4x4 F150 gets 18 average. what did your 13' get just easing aroud flat land backroads? When I ease around on my flashed pcv gen 1. I can get get 50mpg doing 50mph with a soft throttle. With a kinda heavy hand at a real 70mph mine wil get down to 38. I've run out and coasted in a station at 180 miles before. 30mpg. It held 6 gal. I was runnin 80 in the long steep rolling hils with a killer headwind in the driving rain.

For as long as I have owned my S10 my fuel average indicator shows a constant 4.2L/100km(56mpg). Off road though that changes drastically depending on conditions.
My F350 super duty diesel empty will average 14.2L/100km(16mpg), while loaded on average(pulling jetboat or sled deck with 2 sleds on it) 17.9L/100 (13mpg).
My wife's Can-Am though is not great at 7L/100(33mpg), slightly better then her AWD car at 9L/100km(26mpg).
But after posting these, non of them compare to my boat, on average with calm water 10gallons an hour........LOL

Question, why are you using 94?
Cheveron 94 is an oxygenated fuel that is designed for certain cars out there and not for the S10, infact your likely loosing power with 94.
91 is what you need, don't get hung up with ethanol, its a basic motorcycle motor and nothing special about it.

My range indicator has gone down to single digits on a few occasions, with the fuel gauge flashing, but at most I have only been able to add 4.6 US gallons on the 6-gallon tank. So does the range indicate miles to a supposed 'reserve' of some sort? I typically reset a trip odometer at each fill-up and try to gas up around 200 miles or so, but on a recent trip when I was cruising at higher speeds and bucking stiff headwinds my MPGs really dropped and I almost ran out of gas - per the range indicator. Just trying to get a better feel for the miles I can safely cover when the tank gets low.

B.T.D.T. I pay almost no attention to the fuel gauge or range indicator. I use 40mpg as a worse case scenario. That gives me an expectation of a worse case range of 240mi (+/-). I fill up at 200mi (+/-). And I put in 5gal (+/-). I recommend just getting a good handle on your mileage average and going from there. I don't see any good coming from pushing the range limits on a trip.

On a 3300+ mile trip last week, I averaged 41.6 MPG (US), or 5.65 l/100km. This had an IBA cert ride in it, and a bunch of 60mph two lane roads. Some hills, no mountains. Hottest it got was 80 degrees, coldest about 50. No strong winds to mention. I was solo, but loaded down decently, with givi cases, and top trunk. Running Shinko 705 front, Karoo street on the back, 36/41psi. On the last tankful, I got 258 miles, and coasted to the fuel pump (I had spare fuel on board). The light had been flashing for 50 miles.

Don't mind the range indicator. It's useless.
