I have a lockable Touratech GPS mount for my Zumo 660.
When I first mounted it on the accessorie bar above the dash on my 2015 S10 I encountered the problem that it sat so low, that it obstructed my view of the dash.
By tilting it up it was only the turn signal indicators that was covered (annoying enough) but this made it harder to see the GPS screen in bright sun light.

I have now come up with a simple and effective solution to raise the lockable mount.

All I needed was two 10x2cm pieces of 3mm stainless steel and two 5mm bolts with nuts and washers.
I had a local machine shop fabricate/cut the stainless steal for me for a few bucks. I then drilled three 6mm holes in each piece - first hole placed in the center, the two others in relation to that using the bracket for mounting on the bar as a template - for the second piece I used the first drilled one as a template.

The result is very good. I now have a clear view of the entire dash and the GPS is tilted down as I want it. The mounting is rock solid.

I didn't know about the option from Touratech.

If I'd known I would probably have order that one - luckily i didn't.
I can see from the mounting instructions that it doesn't raise the GPS as high as my solution has done, and that is only just enough (with the tilt I prefer) to provide an unobstructed view of the dash including the turn signal indicators.
It also seems that my solution provide a more sturdy mounting with two attachment points to the bar instead of just one.
Besides that my mount all included was half the price of the Touratech solution - but then it took a bit of time and effort to produce it.

The Touratech GPS riser mount sucks. Does not rise it far enough to not blook the turn signals.
Your fix rocks! I'm going to try it.
it worked perfectly for me (Zumo 390 on Touratech mount, 2014 S10).
It clears the flasher indicator and puts the GPS at the perfect height.

Not so in my case....the Touratech mount extender works perfectly with my Zumo 660 on my 2014 ZE ::008::

Are you guys referring to the adapter that fits on the handlebars in the center sold by tour$$tech?

How much you need to raise the mount to have a clear view of the dash depends of the height of your upper body and how you sit on the bike - for me the TT raiser wouldn't have done the job and I'm 6 feet with a 34" inseam.

There is a link in post #3 to the part from TT.

It's the one that raises the mount on the accessory bar above the clocks....... ;)

This is the view that I have when riding my bike - as you can see, a lower position of the GPS wouldn't work for me.
