I just ordered the Givi DLM36B Dolomiti Black Line 36 Liter Aluminum Panniers as well as the Givi Trekker Dolomiti 46 Liter Monokey Top Case (Also Black). The salesman/manger at the Cyclegear store where I ordered these told me that they came with the racks and everything needed to mount it. I did not question this at the time, because the price seemed high enough to include these! But, as I look at the product online, it seems obvious that the side racks and Top Case Plate DO NOT come with these from CycleGear and must be ordered separately. As I look at these, I can't tell whether these side racks come as a pair or individually (requiring that two be purchased).

I would appreciate any advice on racks and plates for the above mentioned side cases and top box. Including which it is worth it to have the Rapid Release racks (PLR2119) or if the PL2119 (standard) is okay. Also, there are several plates for the top box....I would appreciate any thoughts on these plates as well.

Gracious, I was not planning on buying these racks and plate in addition to the cases!! - Thanks for any ideas on any of this.

The side racks come as a pair. So you can mount both your cases. The reason that racks don't come with the cases is that the racks are motorcycle specific. Every motorcycle has their own design and thus requires a specific rack.

I don't have any experience with the rapid release racks. With my side cases they weren't an option even though that is the direction that I wanted to go.

Thanks for the reply. I have ordered the racks and the plate. I just got the cheapest version of both, as all of this is getting a little out of hand. It won't be a big deal for the racks to remain on the bike.

Has anyone else had any problems getting the lock inside the Givi DLM36B Dolomiti 36 Liter Aluminum Panniers to snap locked or to open. Mine seem far too tight....I am always afraid that I am going to break it. I was wondering if I am doing something wrong or if there is another adjustment that can be made. I have to always use the little leverage bar that is snapped inside, and it almost bends the turn--key (for lack of a better description) before it actually turns and locks or unlocks. Thanks for any suggestions.

I have Givi Dolomiti cases and top box. I have them on the QR Givi racks and they are brilliant! Yes, the cam locks inside the cases are stiff to turn at first, but I can turn mine easily now, the first few times I had to use a screwdriver through the loop to give enough leverage. My Dolomiti top box fits onto the dedicated Givi rack, I have the aluminium rack. The Dolomiti cases are excellent, I did the 4 compass points of U.K. last October and I rode through a few days of high winds and torrential rain and everything inside the cases was dry. I recommend them.

I really like them too.....I am glad to know that this loosens up after a bit. Thanks!
