this question is for someone who actually has the bike. I will be mounting PHID lights on the bike along with other electronics
1. PHID
2. Junction box to wire in other stuff like
3. GPS
4. Satellite Radio
5. Heated grips
6. Power outlets (bmw plugs) for accessories
7. Radar detector
so the question is - HOW MUCH ROOM IS THERE? Under the seat? under pillion seat? other locations that could handle 2 rather large ballasts for lights and small junction box. Good places for mounting power switches - mounts for the gps, satellite radio, V1 radar detector (in water proof box). heat controller for both heated grips and for controller for heated clothes.

anyone got experience with mounting things on the bike? Even better if you are willing to take some pictures.

thanks !

There is a lot of space around under the instrument binnacle and under the seat. Ample for your trick bits. If it'd help I could take a few pics .... have to do it at the weekend now though as the XT is buried behind my other bikes ::)

Underneath the dashboard is an auxiliary power outlet. It is one like in cars used for cigarette-lighters.

Yep it's the conventional vehicle set up. If you use Powerlets products you'll need an adaptor.
