If you local guys get a reputable news article on this would you be so kind as to paste it here. This gentlemen is amazing!! He is WW 2 veteran walking laps with his walker to raise money for health care workers. I do not agree at all with some of the individuals that have been knighted over the years. This man here is the real deal!! What a proud country you live in!!

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!!

Rob, He should be an inspiration to all of us around the world. This was not only a country achievement but a worldwide one. Just think of the physical pain he had to endure at 100 years old walking all those steps. He must have been knackered after that!! With all the chaos going on in the world I'm chuffed to bits and gobsmacked over this!! The way he beasted himself was gleaming!!

He’s a great person, but he shouldn’t have needed to do it. The NHS is a great service and the government should have never allowed it to be defunded to such a level. Either you want the NHS and you fund it accordingly or you don’t want it and you shut it down, you do not suffocate it slowly for 20 years and then find a war hero to get tax payers that where Already paying for it, to inject millions of pounds to prop it up for another year so it can continue to die a very slow death. Maybe we will find a captain Moore every year and then the NHS could survive.. The captain is amazing, but the UK government should never have let it get to this level where we needed captain Moore to keep the NHS alive In the first place.

Sad but true Gary. This man did this on his own accord. The government had zero to do with the fundraising. The man simply saw a need to help out a worthy cause and went for it with no encouragement from the government or any entity or outside source. He was fortunate enough to have the media take notice. And that's when things really took off. This was nothing political at all other than maybe the Queen feeling an obligation to knight such a wonderful man.

An example on a much smaller scale is something that happens right here in the US. My motorcycle dual sport club puts on charity events every year for the brain tumor foundation. Children are dying every day from this disease. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is one of the most underfunded health organizations in our country. Sure it's a non profit, but it is publicly funded just like the NHS. A lot of us have worked tirelessly on behalf of these children.

Unfortunately, the local government has set up roadblocks for these charity rides. We end up paying big money for land use permits just to fund these rides. The BLM (Bureau of Land Management) have been the only government agency willing to help out on these events. All other city/county agencies either deny or just see this charity as an opportunity to line their pockets.

The NHS is the envy of many countries including Australia. You are very lucky to have it. We have free medical but not as good as NHS. Now the USA medical system...???

The NHS is an outstanding system and the envy of many countries. I'm proud of Sir Thomas Moore for his selfless attitude to help a country he loves.

The NHS has far more issues than simply throwing money at it. Easy to point the finger of blame at the government/s, and quite naive.
