A short ride in any gravel or loose conditions takes care of the release agent on some tires.

Tires vary, the only low side from a new tire I had was around 1981 with a very cheap tire on a cruiser. I had been learning from the shop how to do my first shaft drive rear wheel change, plus lubing the driveshaft, etc. and totally forgot about the new tire when I left the shop. It was embarrassing to dump it right in front of the shop, but no damage except to my young pride.

What is PSA in the title supposed to indicate ?
Public Service Announcement. It's a common term for things on TV or the Radio that are not advertisements, but trying to bring awareness to something, usually related to safety for the public.

You're in good company. I was at a shake down at Clark Circuit for a 6 hour endurance. A good friend of mine and Philippines Touring Car Champion set off after changing tyres - on his return I asked him how the first corner went ( :D:D:D ) ....."close to losing it" or similar was the answer. I had said to the mechanic that he would be lucky to keep it on the track judging by his braking point.

new tires ,heck even older tires need to warm up a bit to work their best . cold days make it harder to be at their best .and my mustang has summer tires with the warning from ford ,45 degrees or cooler don't drive it . so I take my truck on cold days or the bike .

New tires have a sealer on them to keep the rubber good and need to be ridden very gently for about 100 miles then they’re considered broken in. by gently I mean very minimal lean angle in the turns keeping the bike upright as much as possible.

motorcycle tires stick to the road, they grab it, and when it’s below freezing the tire’s ability to hold on the road is greatly decreased.
Can I ask what the “PSA” in front of your thread title means? I can’t figure it out.
Thanks,
Stefan

so yeah after some more research and listening to what you guys said it’s actually a release gel for the mold when the tires are made... not necessarily a sealer. I can’t edit my post

As tires get older, especially in the heat, they lose the oils that keep them soft/sticky. When they get hard, they get dangerous in the rain. . . . car/trucks/bikes.
