It started on a Super Tenere and ended on a 690 more than 5 years later... as of yesterday have finally ridden the entire MABDR.

At times I wondered if I would ever get to install this one.

Bravo to the BDR organization. They put together a nice route that travels the Mid-Atlantic region in a thoroughly enjoyable way.
Way to go! That’s a heck of an accomplishment! Your determination paid off!

Way to go!
I've been trying to find the time to finish the TPAT-V before I even attempt the MABDR. Just no time, with work, caring for parents and 2 houses, 4 kids functions to attend. but I know I'll get there sooner or, most likely, later.

Yep, life makes it challenging to get in 1200+ miles of true backroads in one shot. Like you, I live very close to a section of the MABDR. That means I've ridden the part between Rt 33 in VA, to Mt Holly Springs, PA multiple times. It's the farther away places that makes it take more days complete.

I tried to do the missing section last weekend. After 3 hours to get to the necessary starting point, I found myself wedged between two thunderstorms. I hate riding in lightening so spent the next 4 hours picking my way between storms and made no progress on completing the route. Thankfully DM took pity on me this weekend and offered to drive me in the truck closer to the needed section. I can say the most mileage I made on the MABDR always started the bike in the back of the truck. Just a reality.

I had the camera running on that last section I rode in July. I was surprised at how the much I misunderstood where the water crossings were on the course. So i decided to put together a video for anyone curious about the water.

Will be leaving Damascus 8/26 riding north to complete the entire route, any last minute warnings/suggestions? Hope the water crossings are low. Don't want to drown the S10.

I live in Pa so have ridden most of the Pa route through the years, beginning well before it was organized and established. Only section I have "officially" run is Mt Holly Springs to Shepherdstown in June. Through the years have been on nearly all those roads too. My son and I were able to make the time and do it together. I have property with a camp 39 miles from Lawerenceville, where we intend to rest and reflect part of the Labor day weekend.

I am thinking of trying the full MABDR this fall. Same for me, head south to Damascus and ride the MABDR north. I live 20 miles north of Lawrenceville. I have ridden a lot of the northern Pa sections.

No last minute suggestions except to enjoy. I think it's a great route and kinda feel compelled to ride PA section again myself.

Have fun, be safe.
