Don't know the highest, but there's 4 inmates here, that I know of, that all have over 100,000 miles. (the 5280' each kind)

Pretty sure a couple are over 120,000

If they keep riding them without replacing them, I'll never catch them. :)

This should be much more for multiple reasons. I will take what I can get.

Not necessarily the largest number of miles but the quality number of miles. Seen many riders with big numbers of Interstate and U.S. miles. I avoid these miles though we all have to ride some of them.

Nothing against quality of miles, (nice phrase ::008:: ), but interstate doesn't mean a poor quality ride. I don't commute, don't do many day rides, so nearly all of my miles have been trips going places around the country. One of the highest mile riders here just rides more than the rest of us. He goes places and enjoys his time.

For me, any day on the bike is a good day. Going places, seeing things and experiencing the ride is good. That whole 'work' thing really cuts into my riding time though. :D I recently gave that up, but time will tell how long that lasts.

2 of the 4 inmates I referenced earlier have reported above.

And its obvious my 120,000 mile guess was conservative.
I've stated before that this bike is quietly establishing a legacy that, in my opinion, equals any that I know of historically for true, non-poser, RTW ruggedness.
It's simply amazing, regardless if it is recognized in real time. Eventually there will be 20 year old Teneres loaded like pack-mules carrying their saddle poke across some majestic plain or mountain trail. Perhaps then, it will be recognized for its accomplishments.

Oh, and every mile on a Tenere is a quality mile!

Read eemsreno's ride reports to your wife. Yaw will be stunned at those 152,000 miles. They are likely NOT what you imagine.

Strange as it sounds, I fear few things. Ain't afraid to die. Ain't afraid of poverty. You'd think a man that has licked those two biggies wouldn't be so SCARED to ride with you for 14 days? Lol

I guess I'm less John Wayne than I fancy myself. :(

Aren't we all!

@WJBertrand - Pretty much every Super Ten will hit 100k w/o engine work. The known issues have been directly related to the Gen I cam chain tensioner, (CCT), or one off oddness that is extremely rare. Your '15, along with all the Gen II bikes, has many improvements, including the re-designed CCT. Time and miles will tell if the Gen II bikes suffer any issues, but traditionally Yamaha does a good job on the improvements between generations.

2015 bought new in June of that year 29,357 miles. How many have hit 100,000 miles with no engine work?
These are very under-stressed engines so it actually goes the other way, in that only a couple of people have needed their engines opened. My guess is that the highest mileage bike will belong to some commuter and we'll never know.

In success stories:

LongHaulPaul is working to a MILLION miles to raise money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis. His 2012 bike is STILL IN WARRANTY at 172,000 miles and the biggest thing the engine's needed was a clutch basket. He actually is moving to a Gen2 bike, largely to have cruise control. He's a forum member.

You've already met eemsreno with his 152,000+ miles

DCStrom has several threads about his experiences getting to 130,000+ with few problems and the ones he has had are due to the extended pounding he's given the bike. He's been on a round-the-world trip since late 2012 (iirc), so his loaded down bike has 10s of thousands of miles on rough rocky roads which led to a couple of cracked wheel rims and a frame crack. No engine work. He did need to replace the stator last year. (120,000+ miles)

Sail2XXs sold his first Tenere with 134,000 (iirc). He had an electrical gremlin since the 70-ish thousand area, but kept going. He's now on a Gen2 bike.

And most of us will never put our bikes through the wringer like DCStrom or RTWPaul.

Nick Sanders taught us a lot after his endurance rides.

As did Davide Biga:

And then there's OldGitray and Helen. Look at how the bike is loaded and where they got it to . . . from England. Then they rode through South America and Ray still has the bike.
