I vote for Hunts because I'm a camper. This is not a large area and if someone wants a cabin from Mountain View then they won't be far away, just down the road. I tried to find Mountain View on Google Maps and found the office but no cabins. I suspect they manage cabin properties all along Hwy 165, not one location.
I'm in either way, just as long as I can find a spot to throw down my tent and get a hot shower.

Of those two and although it's mostly camping, Hunts for two main reasons. First, we need a place for everybody to gather and they have both a fire ring and a pavilion. As Gunner wrote, the Lodge appears to be a series of small buildings spread along the highway so it doesn't appear to offer either of those for the actual group.

But we don't want to lose all the people who don't want to camp, such as Fred, Dirt_Dad, Dirt_Mom, or Karen if I can get her to come. Closer to town is The Lodge at Tellico, which has 16 rooms, plus a pavillion, outdoor fire, and a number of charcoal grills. What it doesn't have are restrooms so they don't have camping. But they are walking distance to Hunts for the campers, so I'd suggest making this the main place because it is more central to everything else. Their website: http://www.lodgeattellico.com

The All Knowing Google shows there are also:
https://tellicofarmhouseinn.com B&B in town
http://www.tellicocabinstn.com 5 miles north
http://www.tnvacationrentals4u.com for individual cabin rentals in the area
and AirBnB shows more options.

There are other options around Tuqua and Deals Gap too.

Truth is we will be only a month away from our Trans-Lab ride. The chance of getting DM back out on a long ride is just about zero.

I'm good at either location.

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for the consideration. If I am able to go, I'll find lodging in the area, no problem.

Hoping they will be dying out the last part of August. Wife does have nets to wear over the head. Very interested in talking to you about your experience while we're at Romney this year.

Back in the day there was a restaurant at the Tellico Lodge, other than that I have no experience there. I looked at the pricing and it seems steep to me. BUt some of us are willing to spend a few extra bucks........

I think that between this MTN View cabins and the farmhouse inn there will be enough for the non campers. I have all the cabins at Hunts blocked off......

"...... Cabin #1 has a double bed that sleeps 2 people in the same bed. Cabins #2 & #3 have a pair of twin beds each, so they sleep 2 people in 2 beds. Cabins #4 & #5 each have 3 single beds (one is a bunk, so somebody gets to climb), so they sleep 3 people in 3 separate beds. Cabins #1-3 are $55.00 per night, Cabins #4 & #5 are $75 per night. Tent camping is $12 per person per night, anyone under 16 is free. We offer 10% discounts for military service, including Veterans, and also for first respondents such as EMTs, firefighters, and law enforcement....."

I am going to give it a few more days then I will likely go with Hunts. I did not find another place that I think would be able to accommodate most folks.

If you have any suggestions/questions post them up.
