This is a direct call to 911 S10 forum ! Guys, gals, I need you !

Yesterday I made 120 km (75 miles) on highway at 4° Celsius (39 °F) and even if I like this bike my hands were not that protected (heated handles at max + not so winter gloves).
I'm looking for a "hands protect (?)" extension top and bottom if that exist, and a windshield extension (mostly for the noise this time)

I know most of you custom your S10, so your reviews will be appreciated.

Thank you much !

Stephane

I use These covers and they are very effective at keeping hands dry and warm, they are very easy to install or remove, I have actually ridden quite a bit below freezing with just summer gloves and my hands stay nice and comfortable.
There are quite a few companies selling this type of thing for less money and they probably work just as well, bought mine about 5 years ago for $60
i do also carry winter gloves on the Tenere but seldom use them.

There are various brands of handlebar mounted mittens that work precisely for this problem. I had a pair at one time (can't recall who actually made them) , but a common brand is Hippo Hands.

I wasn't crazy about them, but a buddy who rides a BMW GS loves his for cold weather. I just wear a pair of winter ski gloves when it gets really cold.

I'm in sunny California, but I still used to commute early in enough mid 30s (F) to chill my hands to the point that pulling in the clutch lever was a chore. I tried some cheap solutions, but ended up going with some Hippo Hands:
Seems like overkill for my climate, but they work well and are easy to put on for a cold morning ride.
I also tried a few things to quiet down the wind noise. A taller windshield was mildly successful, but I ended up with an MRA X-creen add on extension that I can adjust for a pretty quiet ride: https://twistedthrottle.com/shop/body-and-fairing/windshields-accessories/windshield-extensions/mra-x-creen-sport-add-on-variable-windscreen-spoiler-blade-bolt-on-clear/

I made these out of a black office trash can pilfered from work. A little self stick Velcro and you have an excellent solution. I aded a small bolt and nut, just because. Cut the trash can with a pair of scissors. 30 min start to finish!20210109_104756_HDR.jpg20210109_104759_HDR.jpg

If this is your "normal/usual" temperature range . . . . I'd go the more permanent hand guard extension + better glove route. If this is an only winter, or temporary, thing, I'd go the hand mitt route. To me, it comes down to looks. The hand mitt is by far the most efficient/comfortable. Allows light gloves that gives better control feel, but is not pretty. The guard extension are less visible/obvious, but will require heavier gloves.

Is it possible to add a heated seat on the S10 ? or the AMP/voltage I dont know will be too much for the battery ?

You don't necessarily need to go super expensive on something like this; there are cheaper alternatives. If you look on amazon for "motorcycle handlebar muffs", you'll see a bunch of other options.

S10 will drive heated gear easily. Best to switch it on once running. It will drain the battery if wired direct and engine off. Make sure it is properly fused.

And, I would definitely make sure to put it on a 'Tender/maintainer nightly. Even just grip heaters will take it's toll on the battery.

39 f is perfect riding weather ... winter gloves and a good windshield . aero stitch Darian jacket and a couple of layers under keep the upper body pretty comfortable . riding pants over my jeans protects the lower ... can do 2 or 3 hours before needing to stop and warm up , my 2019 does have heated grips and that is even better at extending the ride . I've never had a problem with a cold butt or legs or feet....

I am pretty sure there is a company here ( Italy) that makes heated seat also for the S10...
I think to remember both, pilot and passenger, confier and heated were about 500€ .
I will have a look into it over this weekend and post the link for you.
