What did you not like about the AF1 flash? I am asking because they are only 2 hours away from me and I am hesitant to ship my ecm to Anthony for fear of it getting lost in the mail and then getting a new one.
I had my original 2012 re-flashed via AF1 but I think it was an "ECU Unleashed" product that they fronted for. It helped quite a bit on my 2012 Tenere. I took my 2015 ECU back to AF1 primarily to cure the jerky on/off throttle response which made it difficult to corner smoothly and any performance enhancement would be just a bonus. I can't say it helped much. The bike popped quite a bit on decel (keep in mind I have an Arrow header, cat delete and Akropovic exhaust). Lots of engine braking and trying to feed in power during corners really was jerky and I had to really cover the clutch to feed power really smoothly.

I contacted Anthony and he felt that he could cure most of my issues although he did say that some popping on decel is not necessarily bad. I just returned from my first long ride after the reflash by Anthony and it is much smoother, less engine braking and much reduced popping. The one negative I'll say is that my gas mileage has definitely gone from roughly 42mpg to somewhere around 38-39mpg on average. That is an anecdotal measurement, not really scientific but it seems to be using more fuel (as you'd probably expect since I'm sure he added fuel throughout the range).

You might check with AF1 and see if they even do the flashes anymore. I called them prior to going to Anthony and they said they didn't do that service anymore (here in Austin, Texas.)

Big Thank You! for all the responses. It was a really simple fix and I guess I'm just a dumbass! Whoever mentioned the low fuel light wins! As soon as I transitioned away from the screen that showed the low fuel mileage, it went straight to the "menu" I was trying to access. Note to self, the low fuel indicator supersedes any other activity!

thanks guys!

I usually reset that low fuel screen when I refill. Resetting eliminates that screen completely until the next time you need gas and it pops up again. Don’t think I’ve ever tried accessing the menu from that screen though.

I usually do my tried and true scientific method of randomly toggling every switch until the problem on the screen goes away.
Sometimes it even works.

I've found that, some of the time, that's the only way to fix it.
