I've just had a good look at my FJR and I'm convinced that the brake lever pivot mechanism is the same as the XT1200Z. That being so we can have Pazzos fitted without waiting for new parts to be made. Happy days. I'll order the part tonight and adapt a brand new set of levers that I already have. Don't ya just love farkling. ;D

Levers are amazingly universal it seems. I have a set of ASV levers on my Tiger and the fitment guide that came with it is huge. New levers are one of the best mods you can make, IMO.

I agree. I replace them on all of my bikes. Generally for the extra adjustment but mainly because the look and feel so much better. I like to make a bike my own by adding useful high quality parts.

OK pazzos are on! 8)

The adaptors for the levers ... the part that allows the different fitting permutations ... is called the 'perch'. I used the clutch set up from an MT-01 and the brake from a 2010 FJR. Pazzo will soon list them. In the meantime if you want some contact Mark at Speedycom. Speedycom are excellent with supply ... and that's for all things bike, not just Pazzo's.

Edit: The Pazzo part no's are: clutch C - 777. Brake F - 16. Then you apply your choice of lever .... long or short and what ever colour combo takes your fancy 8)

To me, anything that makes you feel more "connected" to the bike is of utmost value. There are only so many connection points, and one of them are the levers you use for braking and clutching. If you can improve your ability to do either, you improve your riding. Same goes with the shifter, sometimes a better set of boots makes all the difference.

Are they the best mod? Depends on what you're going for (subjective). I think you have a great point about suspension being important as well, I would probably put that even above levers, but for the cost levers are a great bang-for-buck if you're not satisfied with the stockers.

Just wanted to post a quick heads up on Pazzo levers. I have them on an ST1300 and had the adjustment cranked to being fairly close on the clutch side. If it is in a close position, it doesn't allow the right connection for the clutch kill switch to be negated with clutch pulled in so I can start the bike if in gear (with clutch pulled in). If I move the adjustment thingie a couple of clicks, all works fine. It may not do that with other people's bikes but if you find you can't start the bike in gear, check to see if this is the issue.

I'll second this. I put ASV levers on my Tiger and had the clutch adjusted as close to the grip as possible. When I started out, I could find neutral just fine, but as the bike heated up the transmission/clutch characteristics changed, and half way through a ride I found I couldn't engage neutral any longer. A few clicks out on the adjuster and all was well again.

Apparently the moral of the story is that just because you can adjust it close, don't mean you really can (or something like that).

I also have Pazzo leavers on my GSX1400, they are adjusted as close to the bars as possible and I have not had any issues for the last 18 momths, it would appear to vary bike to bike, if I get my Super Tenere I was hoping to fit some so fingers crossed when they bring some out they will work fine.

On a second note having more adjustment then standard leavers would that effect the braking force veing measured by the unified brake system, I'm not great with the tech side so please excuse me ;)

The perch units are now known to Pazzo and they have the assembly's available for direct application to the XT1200Z.

As for the adjustment, it really won't effect the way your brakes operate. The ABS controller/balancer redistributes the effort as a function of it's very workings. The adjustment is aimed at comfort rather than efficiency.

As an aside, I adjust my Pazzos on the on the run as the mood suits me .... the adjusters allow for this and that's another reason for these being my weapon of choice. ;D

It may also depend on the type of bike you're riding, where and how you ride it also. As an example, for my track bike (sport bike), suspension, brakes (lines, pads, etc), rear sets, clipons and levers........pretty much in that order.

I've just put another set of these on my FZ6 S2. I know that some think that these products are perhaps over priced but they are superb quality. Additionally, because of their durability they go on for years. The ones on my Tenere are off of my MT-01 ... so they've lasted five years and look as good as new and no signs of wear and tear. I should add that if you want to change them to another bike you only have to buy new perches and they're relatively inexpensive. You can also buy different colour adjusters seperatley as your mood requires.

I just noticed that Pazzo is now showing the same part nos for the 2004-on FJR and the S10 (F-16/C-777). There are a few of us who are selling our Pazzo-equipped FJRs when the S10 arrives and raiding the perches of the FJR to return it the stock levers will be my plan.

That's what I did. I have a set that was on my ST1300. I ordered new perches and am good to go as soon as my Super Tenere arrives.
