Hi all,

This looks so ridiculous I thought I’d share... just had a tuning session on the quiet back roads in New Zealand.
Obviously not making adjustments on the fly, just looking at AFR and the PC5 map then stopping and making adjustments. So far so good with the dreaded stumble in the lower revs gone.E94F6335-06C4-4B10-9310-BD6B8FDA8BA6.jpeg

I remember the days of tuning things like that. I recall we had to stop and swap maps in my buddies svt focus when we needed gas and they only had 89 octane lol.

Hard to make out the numbers. How much different is that than the map from Power Commander?
Quite a bit different if you are talking about the downloadable maps? I’ll post a better picture.
I decided to fit an aftermarket AFR gauge instead of paying for another Dyno session as some tuners seem more interested in max power instead of economy and ride-ability.
I’m working on the normal 3000-4000 rpm cruise speeds/revs at the moment.
Above 20% throttle was set on a Dyno @ AFR 12.9 so I haven’t bothered tuning there. These trims are providing an AFR of 13.5-14.1@ highway speeds.

My auto tune recommended some pretty big changes from the base map witch was supposed to be for a full exhaust.

One tip that dynojet gave me over the phone. Do a few runs accepting the changes then leave it alone unless the bike changes. Don't chase the perfect tune. They told me that can cause problems.

Hi! MikeinNZ, what equipment does your motorcycle have? mine is from 2010, equipped with an arrow manifold + akrapovic outlet + unifilter air filter + pcV + o2 to optimize and thanks to the help of Jaxon I succeeded in obtaining / making a mapping close to my expectations

If you like, PM me your email address and I can send you a few maps to try out.
List your engine mods.

Hi SubZero,
Mine is the same year with pretty much the same gear minus the O2 optimizer.
I have O2 delete plugs fitted as the closed loop area at 2500-3000 was hopelessly lean. I had a dyno session a few months back with the O2 sensors installed. It was amazing how lean the ecu was trying to run in closed loop fighting the +ve trims we were adding. Auto tune was out of my price range so eBay O2 delete plugs were the go.
I have it running sweet as now. I’ll keep the AFR gauge on it for a few weeks and tweak it where it needs to be tweaked. I’m trying to keep it fairly lean to keep some economy but finding a safe AFR limit is proving a bit tricky.
I would like to see your map if your willing to share?

So this looks a lot like my 2010 Super Tenere, can you confirm that the PCV for a 2011 works for a 2010? (I cannot find a power commander for a 2010)
Thanks!

Yes, the same up till Gen2
Thanks Mike! Do you know if the power commander will remove the restriction on 1,2,3 gears? or will I need something additionally to sort that out?
I have been trying to find a place in New Zealand that will re-flash my ecu (which would solve all my issues) but sadly nobody here can do it :(

No it won’t sadly. Have you tried the clutch switch mod... I personally don’t like it but some here do.
Wiz performance in the UK offer bench flashing at a reasonable cost. I emailed them a while back but no reply. I think they were locked down at the time.

Now thats a fun new idea! what is the clutch switch mod? As I have noticed with the clutch partly engaged the bike seems to be full power until the lever is completely out!

You put a jumper wire between the two terminals on the clutch switch plug.... makes it punchy in the first 3 gears but you lose the start in gear safety feature.

After trying the clutch switch mod I feel I should share my review. Though the bike definitely has heaps more power in the first 3 gears, it makes the throttle really twitchy and almost impossible to slowly cruise at 50-60kmh in the right gear. I have since reverted it back to normal and will await my ECU re-mapping! :)

Thanks everyone for the suggestion!
