From reading many of the suspension posts my understanding is that several of you have fitted the Ohlins rear suspension upgrade with heavier springs, either 140 or 150.
Ohlins are telling me that 130 is their heaviest Spring so can any of you that have a higher rated one fitted please advise me of the part no.
The basic unit is supplied with the 130 which equates to about 750 lb, which is nearer enough the same as the Oem. Due to riding weight and fitments I will struggle with the 130. My Oem was wound in on full preload and I still couldn't get the correct sag so am looking to fit the Ohlins with an uprated Spring. But can't find one suitable. So what have you all got?
Thanks.

I have the Ohlins YA013 on my 2012. From the info. I provided on the Ohlins worksheet when ordering from Jaxon at ride on adventure, it arrived with a 0111-59/150 spring part number. Info. manual that came with the shock states its standard spring would be 01099-49/130. Running side and top case loaded when travelling and I'm 220 without riding gear.
I find that with the bags empty I can run with almost no preload set, and about 1/2 when loaded and it rides very well. Much improved ride and the shock adjustments actually do something now compared to the OEM . :-\

Thanks that's really useful. I run with side cases and top case all the time and weight is about 112 kg so I need either the 140 or 150 that you have. I also can't work out the preload adjuster. The manual states 12. Mm of preload recommended but the adjuster knob rotates about 20 full times. There are no clicks or markings so I assume that each rotation from fully out is 1 mm of preload. Assume therefore that if you are winding it in halfway that's about 10 mm of preload. Am I right in this ?

Preload adjuster backed all the way off

Adjuster turned all the way in

Full preload is about 20 turns in. There is a ball detent that clicks at each full turn of the adjuster knob.
Total adjustment range looks to be about 8mm . Hope this helps some.

Thanks very much. Adjustment is now becoming clear. Your part no has now allowed my local guy to find the same Spring, although he is now looking for a 140 as he thinks it might be slightly more suited.
As I said I weigh in at about 207 and also ride with the panniers and top box, so virtually identical to you. No pillion so he thinks if I can get a 140 it might be better for me. Pity there isn't a easier way to establish correct Spring weight. Many thanks again .

ohlins could not supply a spring for my shock stiff enough for me two up with luggage. I had an ohlins spring that was "close enough" it was a different series but workable.

Rick at Cogent or I am sure other places can custom make a spring that will suit you for not much more.
