Oh Yes We Have No Notifications

I have daily notifications enabled as well as "Turn notification on when you post ..." enabled yet I'm not receiving notifications. Under my profile summary, I can use the "send email" option and successfully receive messages to my gmail account. Nothing in gmail spam folder and no rules I am aware of to block SuperTenere messages (who would do that?).

What am I missing?

Thanks

I have no notifications this morning. I know everything I posted to yesterday has been replied to. Strange.

Checked spam folder, nothing there. I am getting PM notifications without problem.

I'll try office email ID as a test.

OMG, I have never looked in my Spam folder! ::025::
That's where the Tenere stuff went... Why? How do I now make it not go there?

Depends what email program, or website you use. Most of them have an option to mark a sender as a "Safe Sender," and therefore send everything from that address to your inbox vs. the spam folder.

Gmail seems to say the forum has done something wrong. Not sending the right info or something. I'll keep digging.

For Gmail, simply add the email address your notifications are coming from (probably website@yamahasupertenere.com) to your contact list, and from that point forward, your notifications should arrive in your inbox.

Thanks for the tip SPX. Giving it a try. I almost never use contacts, since everything I may want to save is just archived in Gmail.

Bah! Didn't know gmail was run by a bunch of KTM owners.

I put the forum in my contacts, but the notification emails still go to my spam file.
Why is this message in Spam? It is in violation of Google's recommended email sender guidelines.

Looking deeper found this under the "learn more" link.
Authentication & Identification
To ensure that Gmail can identify you:

Use a consistent IP address to send bulk mail.
Keep valid reverse DNS records for the IP address(es) from which you send mail, pointing to your domain.
Use the same address in the 'From:' header on every bulk mail you send.
We also recommend the following:

Sign messages with DKIM. We do not authenticate messages signed with keys using fewer than 1024 bits.
Publish an SPF record.
Publish a DMARC policy.
Learn more about email authentication.

Additional guidelines for IPv6

The sending IP must have a PTR record (i.e., a reverse DNS of the sending IP) and it should match the IP obtained via the forward DNS resolution of the hostname specified in the PTR record. Otherwise, mail will be marked as spam or possibly rejected.
The sending domain should pass either SPF check or DKIM check. Otherwise, mail might be marked as spam.

Subscription
Each user on your distribution list should opt to receive messages from you in one of the following ways (opt-in):

Through an email asking to subscribe to your list.
By manually checking a box on a web form, or within a piece of software.
We also recommend that you verify each email address before subscribing them to your list.

The following methods of address collection are not considered 'opt-in' and are not recommended:

Using an email address list purchased from a third-party.
Setting a checkbox on a web form or within a piece of software to subscribe all users by default (requiring users to explicitly opt-out of mailings).
I don't really understand the above. Just find it odd that it changed overnight and a bit annoying.

Got one normally! There were still three new ones in Spam though. ::010::
I flagged all the ones in Spam as 'important'. 'remove label spam from the email' button was pressed... and one new one got through since lunch. We'll see what the rest of the evening holds in store.

I dunno, don't think it's a gmail issue. Even using corporate mail address, never received any notices.
I've now switched back to my gmail account and I did receive the confirmation email with activation link.
Strange... :'(

I'm still only seeing them in spam file. Marking them important and putting the email address of the forum in my contacts didn't make any difference. Gmail is still saying
It is in violation of Google's recommended email sender guidelines.
A bit annoying. At least I'm getting them... I think.

Ha! I created a 'filter' for 'never send to Spam'. It puts a colored bar across the top of the email notification that says ' this email was not sent to Spam because of a filter, for more info click here'. But everything went to Inbox this morning. I wonder if there's a 'hide' button...
