OEM side cases, but not OEM

I'm looking to get a set of side cases for my 2015 ES and like the look of the OEM Yamaha cases (with the contoured left case). I've read a lot about the ruggedness and overall quality of the Yamaha cases (slightly lacking). Can anyone point me to manufacturers of cases that are similar in style to the OEM cases, but have a higher build quality and are more robust?

Some of the popular manufacturers that offer a left side cut out case for the ST include Jesse and Bumot.

I have Jesse luggage. I had an unscheduled dismount in Titus Canyon and mucked one up a little bit. Had to bungee the lid down to get home. When I got home I used a bar clamp and brought it back to square. They are aluminum and easy fix if needed. I would buy them again

There are numerous cases which fit - the harder question is how to mount them. I went with the SWMotech removable ones. When the boxes are not on the bike there are only small tabs remaining.

They have four quarter turn Dzus fasteners for removal and mounting. I made a steel rectangle that fits between the case and bike, gives me something easy to hold, and is ground to the width of the Dzus fastener slots. Regular screwdrivers will mar the heads of the Dzus fasteners.

Other than the goofy locks I like my Yamaha luggage just fine, my luggage is black so in bright sunlight it gets very hot, silver or aluminum color would solve that minor issue.

Another happy user of the Holan side cases. I chose them specifically because of the LH cutout for the pipe and the nice tight overall fit on the bike. I normally just run the trunk except for trips and when the SO needs storage...easy on/off and the racks don't bother me.

I'll make a suggestion, if you like the look of the OEM cases, grab them for touring use, and use soft saddle bags for offroad. I found (After owning several sets of luggage) that lighter soft luggage works much better for me offroad and doesn't hurt the agility of an already large bike.

I use Givi trekker cases for touring (after wrecking the OEM Panniers) and Wolfman Dry saddle bags strapped to the Givi racks. I think the bike looks great with saddle bags too. I use a large wolfman dry duffle bag strapped over the passenger seat to keep the weight centered on the bike for additional stability and a nice backrest. Easy to take off at the end of the day as well.
