gv550, it looks so clean!
my 400K V-Strom looks like crap. I wouldnt get $250 for my bike. How much did you get on trade in? I did sell my 363K HD for $2900 and then the guy flipped it for $5000. I pity the fool

I got $4500 for it, book value was $7000 being it was 9 years old, so I think I did ok. It actually had 423k when I traded it, the dealer sold it the next day and the new owner has rode another 10k trouble-free since then. I had a lot of adventures with that bike but my aging back was struggling with its 900 lbs. Huge breath of fresh air with my 490 lb Tracer.

If I knew how to post pictures I would post one showing 530,000 miles on the odometer.
It’s been just across the Mexican border and as far north as the Arctic Circle , there are about 10 eastern states that I haven’t been to on a motorcycle, but I hope to get to them all someday.
I’ve used about 8 different brands of oil, mostly synthetic but not all.
Incredibly The original water pump lasted 450,000 miles and I put on a rebuilt pump after that, so far that’s working fine.
Unfortunately It’s been in three serious deer killing accidents so my insurance had to pay out more to fix it than what the bike cost brand new.
Between the Tenere and the Goldwing I have about 7,000 miles so far this year, being retired makes it pretty easy.

All these high miles always are amazing to me. I've been riding since 1970 and all combined add up to around 500,000 miles. Back in the old days it was rare to ever see a motorcycle with over 30,000 miles. I rode an old 1978 Kawasaki KZ650 168,000 miles was my big mile motorcycle. Cycledude being on the GL1800 forum probably has read of the guy with the 2015 Goldwing that has done 100,000 a year and had the previous goldwing with over 600,000 miles on it. I like to ride, or so I thought, but no comparison to the real riders.

What tires are you using? The tire cost alone is mind boggling.
For me it’s been mostly the stock Bridgestone Battle Wings, I did use one set of Mitas Dakar’s and liked them.
There really ain’t nothing cheap when it comes to motorcycles, I wish it was cheaper but it’s not.
530,000 miles on a Goldwing is about 13,000 gallons of gas !
About 35 sets of tires !
About 66 oil changes !
Lots and lots of other regular maintenance costs !
Insurance !
Luckily in Wisconsin motorcycle registration is only $24 for two years.
