In the Super Tenere Sales Brochure it says { non-transferablle } I was wandering what that ment. These dealers that have ordered some in under their cat and dogs names then sell them ,is it the warrenty that is not trasferable ? I would sure want to know the facts befor I purchesed one. You may be buying a [second hand ] bike with no warrenty.

Is it possible they mean that you can’t transfer your deposit made with a dealer to some other dealer, who might have offered a better price, to buy the motorcycle?

Just a guess here, but I think by "non-transferable" they are trying to avoid a situation where somebody puts in an early order, then tries to "sell" his place in line to some poor schmuck later on who wants a bike RIGHT NOW and doesn't want to wait in line like every body else and is willing to pay extra for the privilege.

Agree with the previous two posts. Not sure it is entirely kosher with Yamaha for dealers to be using bogus customers to floor bikes, but it has been routinely done in previous PDP's - Yamaha probably just looks the other way and there are no warranty or other consequences from doing the transfer from the buyer's perspective. The intent of the "non-transferrable" provision is to avoid customers reserving positions and then selling them to other buyers.

It's a little like the "non-refundable" aspect of the deposit. Yamaha says non-refundable, but your purchase agreement is between the dealer and you, not between Yamaha and you, so if the dealer wants to make it refundable, they certainly can. Again, Yamaha is just wanting to discourage speculation on delivery positions.
