Which means I might be able to get to 10k. :)
Same boat I'm in, 285-ish at this point. I never get the crazy good mileage as some, since I'm essentially riding 2-up on my own. The stock Metzler's I pulled off at 8,900 miles and they were pretty much done, especially the front. And I'm typically running 40-42psi Rear / 35-37psi Front, 98% pavement riding at this point.

I too was amazed at his mileage. . . .

Speaking of mileage (fuel). njdevils is getting over 49mpg. So, he's getting high fuel, and tire mileage, and he's averaging 2k miles per month; 101 fuelings! o_O That's a lot of nice, steady, cruise controlled traveling. My numbers are closer to JJTJ2's.

So, a little update for everyone since it's been a while. On 19 November I was going on a nice motorcycle ride after work. I filled the bike up with fuel then began my ride when as I was going around a traffic circle in town a buck about the size of the bike ran into me from the center of the traffic circle while I was doing roughly 30-35 mph.

I didn't drop the bike and rode out of the circle and pulled over to inspect the damage. There was cosmetic damage to the front left of the bike, the headlight housing was damaged and the radiator was smashed (but somehow not leaking). I noticed the coolant temp got up to the hot warning so I shut the bike down for about 10 minutes and then started it back up and rode to my parents house (about 6 miles away) with no problems. I was able to pull the left cover off and see the damage better and parked it in their garage until on Saturday the 21st I rode it to my Yamaha dealer to get a quote on the damage for insurance. All together (with labour) the buck did about $2,800 in damage. I'm guessing I'll have the bike back around the same time I got it back last year with the oil pan damage.IMG_20201122_131045_133.jpgIMG_20201122_131045_131.jpgIMG_20201122_131045_135.jpgIMG_20201122_131045_137.jpgIMG_20201122_131045_132.jpgIMG_20201122_131045_161.jpgIMG_20201122_131045_157.jpgIMG_20201122_131045_160.jpg20201205_091949.jpg

I guess you were kind of lucky
Is that a dent in the tank, or just paint missing? or something else? (don't se any paint job on the detail paper)

At least there's not a repair list for you. Make sure the insurance puts that on your comprehensive, and not your collision.

Just found out that the dealer I have been dealing with for the last 6+ years is closing on Tuesday because the owner passed away and his sons don't want to deal with it or something like that.

Okay, it's been a few months since my last update.

I got my Ténéré back from the closed down Yamaha dealer on the 22nd of January and took it to a good Indian dealer near by that works on all makes and I also know two of the techs that work there. It's a good thing I took it there as my one friend looked over the entire bike and found about another $3,000 worth of damaged parts that the Yamaha tech didn't notice. It'll be another month or two at least depending on how much is on backorder and for how long. I can't wait to ride again and I'm glad I have a new dealer to take the Ténéré to for major service in the future.
