Glad all is well with you and the miles are slowly adding back up on the Tenere. I posted in the regional for our area with some information on a possible meet-up ride if you're interested. I practice social distancing and have no problem riding for many hours at a time. Welcome back.

Bought a mount for a Givi Monokey top case that was on a bike not being used. Mounted it on yesterday after it came in and put the case on. I like it a lot more than the backpack I've been riding with. Plus it has a back rest so it'll be nice for whoever rides with me.

The heaviest I will go is a camelback with some hand tools, snacks and 3 liters of water. The weight only gets better as I ride. Plus depending on the bike sometimes the rear seat will be high enough to take off the weight.

I might move to a bladder in a tank bag when riding 2up.

Just a thought or suggestion, but I've been using a Givi Tanklock bag for years. Never in the way, never touches the tank, takes a second to move out of the way for fuel, holds little stuff including a 2 liter water bladder that I use on longer or hot humid rides. I put the end or mouthpiece between the throttle cables and it stays put until i reach for it. And it's effortless to put back between the cables. Great in traffuck or at stop lights or straighaways.

I apologize in advance if the images are huge. Have fun and enjoy the ride.

Anyone want to weigh in on thoughts of what caused my front tire to wear this way? It's hard to see in the photo but there are what almost appear to be bubbles that are evenly distributed in the center tread area of the factory Bridgestones with 18,477 miles on them. The pattern is repeating all the way around the tire as well.20200903_184933.jpg20200903_185056.jpg

I would not be concerned. I got a little over 16,000 on my original BattleWings and they looked very similar to yours. I'm going to guess that after that many miles, road conditions, variable tire temps and air pressures and possible small balance issues as the tire wears, will contribute to them looking like that. I too when with the Michilin Road 5 Trail and their grip in the dry and handling in the wet are great. I have now 25,000 miles on the bike or about 9,000 on the Road 5s. The front looks great, however I did notice some cracking between the treads. (will post picture later if you are interested?) Rear has a flat spot wear spot in the middle from normal riding and still has some tread depth left. I'm guessing a few thousand left. You will love the grip of those Road 5s. Very confidence inspiring.

I put Road 5s on my last bike and had 18,200 miles on them before I traded it in for my S10. With the tread on them at that time I could have easily gotten another 5,000 miles out of them. I wish FedEx wasn't being slow as the tires were supposed to be here today but naturally they are not.

I put the wheels and stock tires back on since FedEx is still taking their good ol' time. So I'll be able to ride around as long as it's not wet out as the rear tire is about 1,000 miles away from being bald.20200906_203638.jpg

Wooo, only took FedEx 6 days to deliver my tires 50 miles. I'm happy they finally arrived at least and didn't get "lost". I'm going to have them mounted tomorrow and then put them on the bike hopefully after work or on Thursday depending when they get to them.20200908_183234.jpg

I could have easily pushed it the extra 300 miles to 19,000 miles on the OE Bridgestones but can't wait to have the Michelins on as I should easily get close to or over 20,000 miles out of them.
