I dropped mine on a sandy two track the first time. I wasn't able to pick it up the recommended way but it came up by turning the bars to right, brake on and one mighty push which to my surprise it went right up. My second time Raven took a nap was a because of my lack of attention after fitting new tires, which I imagine everyone knows what I'm going to type next, when moving it out of my trailer and when I went to slow it's decent down the ramp I had no front brake. It caught me off guard and went over, luckily away from me because I was trying to save her. The ramp cable scratched the crash bar and the windshield but not too bad.
I cannot wait to build a garage so I can get all my bikes in one place and have choice of what I want to ride!

Iowa nice!
Yep, two very helpful Iowa gents. Really appreciated them that day. I couldn't list all the home states of people who have helped me pick up bikes. I do remember another Iowa gentleman helping me with the bike when the old woman knocked it over. He was so nice he even loaned me his left mirror so I could get home.

I've dropped mine twice. First time was at a stop sign after my pant leg got caught on something on the bike and I couldn't get my foot down in time. Try as I might I could not pick it up alone but the kind lady stuck behind me at the sign got out and together we got it back upright. Second time was in my driveway after stupidly using the front brake during my turn-around. I used my floor jack to get it up enough for me to push upright.

That happened to me twice, the getting the pant caught not the dropping, before I decided to swap the joint guard for the AltRider one. No more pant going into it.
I fixed mine too but used a coat hanger, a couple of button head fasteners from the local hardware store and a small piece of scrap metal. The fasteners go through the S10 plate to small pieces of scrap metal that hold the ends of the coat hanger in place. The other end is also from scrap - it has a slot that allows it to slide behind that giant fastener on the frame. The extra holes were the first prototype that didn't quite work like I wanted it to. I was too lazy to make another piece :-\Guard.jpg

At least most of you guys are dropping your bikes in the dirt. I dropped mine once in the garage because I didn’t put the kickstand down all the way, and as you know, once the big girl tilts far enough, there’s no stopping her! No damage done—except to my ego.

I did that once. It was the first time I was ever leading a group ride. Handle bars right into the spokes of the guy next to me.

Fortunately I had about eight guys with me to help get it up quickly. The only thing damaged was ego and everyone's confidence in who the hell is leading this ride.

First morning I had my ‘12 Tenere, I hopped on and went for a ride up our gravel driveway, down in 2 seconds! Slid on gravel and wet leaves! Ripped the oem plastic engine slide part right off!! Happy starts!

How where u planning to get up the other side? BTW that's an awesome shot. You need to get a picture of that and hang it.
If you are pointing to this picture?
That was just a ravine crossing near the Rose Garden in Moab.
