Sold my 660 which has never let me down and worked flawlessly. Should get the XT tomorrow. Looking forward to using it. Never really considered the ones that came after the 660 as a worthwhile purchase for me which shows how good the 660 was really.. Lots of great features on the XT which puts it on another level. Just hope its as tough and reliable.

I like my 590 (with 595 fw) I have the Tourtech Locking mount... leave it attached and locked to bike every where.
Currently there is no Tourtech locking mount for the Zumo XT.

This thread on UKGSer might be worth a look.

Dig deep in your map settings. They are in there. I remember it was hard to find them on my 595LM.

Have to go into apps, trips, new and then there is a gear icon to "import"...if I remember right. Definitely not intuitive!

Found this-
flip down, they have a lock for the XT.

I'm just feeling butt burned over spending so much on the 595, it is hard to see, really terrible when I wear my favorite old silver mesh Triumph jacket. I made a big sun shield that helps some. But I still end up wishing for my phone at times. I'd rather use a dedicated GPS for several reasons. Then, there is the wonderful basecamp software. Yawn.

I'm thinking, Tom-tom.

Thankyou sir. You go into trips, new trips, then you can select import from there. Going from the 660 to this is like going from Windows 7 to Windows 8 lol the stupidest ever software " update " which practically rendered your laptop unusable.

Even for a few of its shortcomings, I really like my 595. I'm going to wait for the XT to be out a few years and see if Garmin adds some features to it. No doubt it's a nice little unit.

I like my 595 as well. If the XT was compatible with Garmin's TPMS it would be a much quicker upgrade for me.

We are really spoiled with all this technology. Just 10 years ago I was using a simple USA map for traveling and dead reckoning/landmarks for navigation.

The game changer came when navigating the woods. My hats off to hunters and woodsmen who can get around in the trees without getting lost. I'm sad to say I rely on my GPS in the trees. Not good.....

This looks pretty sweet. Need to amortize my 595 before moving on. I like the 595 other than the track to route import and management. If I were in the market, I'd be all over this. Come to think of it, maybe my wife needs one. Hmmm.

Does the XT have the ability to find gas stations along a planned route?
Mine hasn't delivered yet, but until someone who owns it responds, here's the ONLINE MANUAL. Note the search feature at the top-right.

Looks like it has:
-an "Up Ahead" feature that lists gas stations in upcoming towns
-an "Emergency Fuel" feature to find the nearest station
-the regular "Points of Interest" feature that lists nearby fuel stations
-a "dynamic fuel stops" feature, which apparently recommends specific stops at gas stations based upon your mileage/range (so long as "fuel tracking" feature is enabled)
-a ridiculous amount of other fuel-related features

Not sure if you're only asking *specifically* about planned routes, but that may be redundant given the above.

I'd be pretty surprised if not, even my ancient zumo 550 can find POIs, including gas stations, near/along the route you're following.
When following a route on my Montana, the device cannot look for a gas station along that route. It will find gas stations in the general area but even the closest often takes me away from the planned route.

Thanks for this. It looks like The “Up Ahead” feature is what I want.
