Hi guys, I took delivery of a very nice Gunmetal gray and black 2014 Yamaha Super Tenere last week! I am coming from a KLR 650 that I traded in to get my new Tenere. I have been lurking here for a little while but finally wanted to drop in and say hello. I already put over 100 miles on my tenere and have already done an engine and shaft oil change, as well as heavily greasing the shifter and brake pivot bolts. I also installed SW-Motech crash bars and Sylvania Silverstar Ultra headlight bulbs. So far, I love this motorcycle and have no real complaints! I am still new to the Tenere but have been riding since 2006 and doing all my own wrenching long before that. If there are any other riders in the south eastern CT area that want to meet up for a ride or just talk Motorcycle, I am here.

A few questions I must already dive into though; What is the best service manual to get for this machine and where do I get it? A very quick google search found the factory service manual at Yamaha pubs but what is the general consensus here? Secondly, how do I adjust the headlights? Mine are aimed a little too high.

Ok that is it, If I have any more involved questions, I will post them in the technical section.

Thanks for your help in advance and I look forward to being an active member here!

Welcome aboard.

With respect to the service manual, there are only really 2 things that generally get people in trouble around here. One is personal insults aimed at other members and the other is violating the Yamaha copyright on the service manual by posting links to illegal copies which you may find online. We do have Yamaha checking in on the forum now and then, so it's a line we just can't play with and here's the policy:

Following on about service manuals, I have yet to see a Clymer or Haynes manual, so the factory service manual seems to be your only choice at this point.

Ok thank you, that is what I suspected.

Thank you to everyone else for all the warm welcomes!
