Popped on a set of Shinko 705s in preparation for my ride to WeSTOC, later this month. Good looking tire, great price and relatively easy to mount. I’m a bit concerned how much weight I needed to balance the rear though

Careful, those first 50 miles... turn in can be a bit odd until you internalize the movement.

Thanks,Yup that's pretty much SOP with any set of new tires. They always fall/tip-in quicker than flat-profiled worn out tires. The 705s feel tippy when new same as the set of OEM Battlewings I last fitted when they were new. This sensation quickly disappears with a bit of accommodation. The main difference is that I can kind of feel the coarser tred at low speeds. Not what I would call a vibration at all.

I had a rear shitko 705 come apart towards the end of its life. I thought I’d get another 1500 miles out of it. Never again. Just watch when the tread blocks start to get torn up.

I've heard of this happening with the bias but not the radial versions. At any rate it's always a good idea to keep an eye on your tires. I've had high-end Dunlops come apart on me before. This is an experiment for me as it's too early to get "married" to these tires.
