Oh, I know. We were in the yards there for 2 months.
Oh, I thought you were talking about San fran in general. So you didn't have any problem when leaving that yard? Any time we left the base on the navel bus we had shit thrown at us all the time. Your 3rd class citizen comment is an understatement, when I was in every civi dude had long hair our short hair cut was a dead giveaway to treat us like shit. San Deago is where we were treated the worse mainly because of 32nd street and how big that base was and how many squids lived there

I went to a custom seat maker here in Denver and had it made to fit my ass, spent the day there getting off and on till it was perfect it is wider in the back give more thigh support and higher in the front...which you might not like, I'm 6' so it works for me. he also shave the rear seat so it doesn't rub my back. It is designed like an old tractor seat and it was only $350 I like it because it looks stock .......But it ain't
Madman just got my seat modified by a local guy who specializes in motorcycle seats - called Premium Seat this is the second seat he has done for me (he did my Strom's seat as well 2 years ago). I was on the verge of pulling the trigger on a Saddlemen Seat but 1) was unable to find many reviews for our bike 2) do not believe in plopping $600 Cdn +++ after the exchange on a seat i can see/touch or even test so like last time went with this solution ! Did a shakedown test/ride today good move on seat mod!

Actually the guy who did my seat last year missed the spot where there is a 2x2 inch square cut out of the seat pan that has quarter inch lips facing up right at the tail bone. He only put a 1/2 inch of padding over it. It caused a major tailbone injury I am still dealing with today. I am seeing a physical therapist 2x's a week and she is having to go inside my butt with her finger and physically straighten my tailbone because it is curled so bad. I am lucky to get a 100 miles on the bike before I have major pain. The dude fixed my seat but the bike is sold and the tailbone is still wrecked. Next time you take off your seat look at the 2x2 opening that is cut out of the seat pan and you will see what I am talking about

Ouch sorry to hear that - i did not get any padding removed other than a slight rounding off on the edges to help with the chaffing.

The owner of the company spent all day fixing the seat, but it is too late now. I usually do a 4 to 5k mile trip each summer. I am now riding a 2023 triumph 1200 explorer GT and I don't even know if I can ride this summer. I ride every week but there is no way I can bang out 500 mile days now. I did a 200 mile day last week and the pain was unbearable. I am now buying those air pads to put on my seat. I hope that works. The seat on the Triumph is heated so I can't have any work done on that seat

One last comment on my seat mod - on top of rounding off the sharp edges I got a gel pad installed (this time its a product that he has made to his specs (last seat he used the Luimoto Gold Gel): FYI GEL ends up being slightly firmer than the seat foam .

Yeah, Dan said he didn't think a gel would have helped me at this point he just added an inch and a half of new padding. unfortunately, nothing is comfortable now. I also have to sit on a rock-hard seat at work which really sucks. I had to buy a memory foam pad to sit on at work.
