Don’t fret. I know exactly when Yamaha will come out with a new improved Super Tenere with all the cool things you desire (less weight, more horsepower, more cool electronic stuff!!).

It’ll be announced within 30 days after I replace my Tenere with something else.

I am right there with you. Got tired of waiting for some color other than white.... just purchased a left over 2018 es. So I am sure it will be next year...

Maybe they were going for the "blank canvas" effect with the '19. (I still want those blue rims though)

there are only 3-4 pieces that are colored and can easily be painted. I ride daily, it gets a once or twice a year wash. Function, longevity and reliability are hallmarks of the S10 and are the reasons I purchased mine

Hey guys/gals,

Will there be a new color for 2021 ? I'd like to buy a s10 in january and wanted to be sure the reseller won't give me a bike from 2018 (even if it is the same ..)

thanks !

Only way to know the model year for sure is with the 17 digit VIN number, for 2021 the tenth digit will be M.
Are you sure?
I was looking in to this when I bought mine, and it seems like Yamaha don't use "normal" VIN number.
I don't think it is possible to se more than the generation, at least on European models....
My VIN is JYADPO71000000846
J=Japan
YA= Yamaha
DP07= Gen 2 from 2017 (DP01= gen 1, DP04= gen 2 from 2014. The reason for new VIN in 2017 is Euro 5 polution demands )
1= no idea
846= number of bikes in this generation

But please correct me if I'm wrong :) , with evidence;)

I stand corrected. Vehicles built for the North American markets follow ISO 3779 VIN standard where the tenth digit designation is model year, vehicles built for European Union are not required to include model year and often have a zero for the tenth digit regardless of what model year it is.

. . . . DP07= Gen 2 from 2017 (DP01= gen 1, DP04= gen 2 from 2014. The reason for new VIN in 2017 is Euro 5 polution demands )
. . . .
I thought the T-12 didn't meet Euro 5 specs. So, with that V.I.N., does that mean it does meet them?

Yamaha might go with a larger triple (1200) to slot into the large ADV segment. Should be ample for hp/torque considerations. I’m thinking more Road ADV than single trail worthy (that’s what the T700 is for). Hopefully, it’ll be lighter and livelier.
