My opinion all years paint on the 1200 Tenere are pretty lousy, I believe they could have sold way more with a better paint job right from the start And yes I have probably said that 100 times.
Says the guy with the ugly yellow low mileage Honda Gold Wing!! LOL:p

I didn't mention color(s) because it is SO subjective....and if you're buying one make of any vehicle over another make, because of the color.... o_O But, MY favorite Tenere color is the Cobalt Blue. Didn't start out that way. LOVED the 60th Anniversary, and really like the red/maroon. I also like the white with red graphics; good combo, and reminds me of my 'ol SECA. I agree with RC about black; never been a fan of it on anything. I disagree with him on the blue rims. I don't know why actually, but I want a set.

I feel the same way about the most of the colors you mentioned. My favorites are the lighter color blue, the red, and the yellow. I used to say that I'd NEVER own a black vehicle. BUT, I never let color stand in the way of a good deal on the features that I wanted. Hence, my last three trucks have been black. All because they were deals I couldn't pass up when I needed a new (to me) truck. I've said many times that I wouldn't buy a black bike. Hard to keep clean, many buy them thinking they'll look "bad-ass" on one, etc. Well, when I finally found an ES in great condition, with low mileage, that I could afford, it was a '16 in Black Pearl. I have to admit, it's beautiful, and it's everything I wanted it to be. I'm looking forward to a lot of miles and adventure on her.

P.S.: And I've wondered what a set of those blue rims would look like on my bike.... :p

I love the Yellow but just hate that they didn’t bother to paint the front fender and side covers to match
Actually, to do it correctly, they should have painted the front fender gloss black, and the wheels gold. (not yellow either) When you mention side covers….I'm assuming you are referring to the radiator and battery cover(s). Definitely gloss black for the proper anniversary scheme.

You'd never know from my photo but the front fender is gloss black on the anniversary bikes, and I added some yellow wrap to the triangular panels at the bottom of the rad and battery covers just so I can pick out my bike if there happens to be 3 or 4 in a parking lot!

Fortunately, that will only happen at a Tenere Rally!

A few weeks back i saw a post with pics (can't seem to find it now) yamaha had a display of several engines. One that grabbed my attention was a cross plain twin 900. Some people seemed to guess it was for the atv/side by side. I would like to see that engine in a new updated super tenere with shaft drive.

Opinion: Replacing the 1200cc with a 900cc, is taking a step backward. People are already complaining about not enough power with the existing motor.

Member Fredz43 had his new Gen2 professionally painted before it was even started. He wanted white, bought the graphics for the painter, and had a white bike. There are not that many pieces so it's not that expensive.

For just a bit of an investment it can be any color that you like. My personal tastes include not caring for matte primer type of finishes, so my new ES was painted in the Euro white color scheme before it was ever started.

If it had been available in ES, in the US, I would have had one. Quite ironic to me, that the US is the only place you CAN'T get an anniversary ES. That all being said, I love my Cobalt Blue

Well Yamaha already stated this is the last year for the current FJR1300. Is the sport tourer market still strong enough to support a new clean sheet tourer? Who knows. The adv market is strong though and I’m sure we’ll see a gen 3 s10 in a year or two. Also just to mention Indian is now getting in the ADV market with a 2021 offering.
