Had my bike two weeks tomorrow but the log books not arrived yet!! Is this normal when buying from a dealer? FJR one turned up within days. Or is it just covid/summer hols causing delays?
If the dealer did the transaction online then a couple of days is normal, if they posted the paperwork in then it'll take weeks due to delays in the DVLA.Had my bike two weeks tomorrow but the log books not arrived yet!! DVLA are in the press at the moment, something about a strike I think.Had my bike two weeks tomorrow but the log books not arrived yet!! Is this normal when buying from a dealer? FJR one turned up within days. Or is it just covid/summer hols causing delays?
I can see the DVLA from my house and one of my friends works there, they have a massive backlog of work there due to COVID and although many of the employees there are working from home, there has been an awful lot of them having to isolate. Patience is the word I’m afraidHad my bike two weeks tomorrow but the log books not arrived yet!! Is this normal when buying from a dealer? FJR one turned up within days. Thanks, good idea. So this shows the bike as Taxed and a new v5 was issued on the 20th, so I guess it’ll arrive any day now.The DVLA problems are all over the media at present.
IIRC your bike was a Euro4 pre-reg, so the change of ownership & new VED payment should have been completed on-line when you were with Chorley Yamaha. However, you could just plumb your registration number into the DVLA site, which will show if the bike is taxed & if/when the computer thinks you have been issued with a V5 ........... https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax. It's often worth checking MID too, for peace of mind.
With a backlog of something like 1.4 million I hope your new SuperTen is a keeper! Thanks, good idea. So this shows the bike as Taxed and a new v5 was issued on the 20th, so I guess it’ll arrive any day now.
Well what do you expect, you've moaned about it in front of one of the workers and the bloke across the road from the place, they've chivvied it up for you.Of course it had to arrive the day after I make a fuss about it not arriving
