Yes thats the one. Preferably with full luggage too.
He has the matching luggage. I have more pictures of the bike, but I can't find them. Fun fact: UK bikes have the panel with FJR on them, painted red. In the US, the panel is silver. He bought the '14 bike used with 10K miles on it. . . . for $10,800 USD. . . . in '14. So, unless the bike was shipped from the UK, the previous owner switched out the panel. We know that it has been flashed, because there's no speed restriction set. He's had it up to 158, before he chickened out.

I didn’t know about the side panels. A UK bike in the US!!! Usually the other way round. It doesn’t appear to have the side reflectors US bikes usually have.
158.....we get locked up for 6-12months here for that kind of speed.

A deserted toll road made it possible; perfectly smooth and straight. Most of our roads don't allow for stupid speed like that. The FJR is my second favorite bike.

So I had a 30mile ride on my mates 2016 ZE this morning. Really impressed with the mechanicals, nice wave of torque similar to the Pans V4. Must admit I had a grin similar to the one after my first ever ride on an R1150GS some years back, but.....that was then followed with the grimace from that f.......ing seat. OMG, how did they get away with making that POS for a seat. Turns out my mate has a spare Touratech seat thats now coming my way, and I’m likely going to be reworking it from the base myself and will aim to have a first attempt sorted ready fir my first ride. Oh and a Givi Airflow will be on order next too. But otherwise its all good. Can’t wait for wednesday now....

Goes to show what an impossible task manufacturers have when designing seats and screens and how different we all are.

I find the S10 original seat one of the comfiest I have ever had on a motorcycle even though in the past I have spend money on custom, Corbin, Sargent seats etc

Seats are a personal thing. Some days I can ride for a couple of hours straight without a twinge, other days I am squirming after 20 miles. There are variable which I think affect seat comfort. For example, with my Halvarssons textiles, I end up wriggling about sooner than if I have my Aerostitch Roadcrafter or leather trousers. I think my butt gets hotter when I wear my Halvarssons perhaps because of the water proofing or because they have Outlast linings.
I would still like to get myself a Sargent or Touratech seat though!

I've just ordered a Sargent seat for mine. Depending on the delivery from the USA they think they will be posting it on the 9th July.

I have done the flat seat mod which was very good, the actual oem seat is comfy enough in the middle, what I was having minor discomfort with was the edges where my legs/inner thigh pressed against what seemed to be a sharp edge. Like many things in life, I felt I needed a bit of extra width.

I found many years ago that the seams in trousers can cause huge discomfort. I had an off at a track day, my leathers went in for repair where they just sewed another layer on top. The new edge this created was so thick, my next tour had this edge wear my butt red raw. I had a new pair made to measure with no seems anywhere near my butt, and these are still my best pair to wear, although I do find my Halvarssons Prince trousers ok.
I’m collecting my bike Friday now, they didn’t know about the recall it seems!!, and the part isn’t coming till Thursday!! You other guys that bought from Wigan/Chorley might want to check they did your recall??
First job will be to strip the seat down and level and smooth the base out before rebuilding with memory foam etc, and then refitting the cover. I’ll try and do the necessary pics as I go. This is my 24th motorcycle and the only one that has a seat so far out of level, Ive honestly never ridden any bike before that so effectively rams yer nuts into the tank the whole time!!:):):)

Hi, if you mean the brake/cruise switch recall (Yamaha confusingly call it the stop switch) they did know about it because they did mine. Great bike :)

I got a Sargent seat for mine a couple of weeks ago. It’s early days, but it does seem to be an improvement over the oem seat (with the seat mod) because it is firmer, flatter and wider.

I picked my bike up from Wigan on 18 May. Like yours it was pre registered (30/11/20)

Meant to ask at the first service about the brake light switch recall but forgot so I rang them today.

They assured me that it was done in Feb 2021 when it was transferred from the holding depot in Chorley to the Wigan shop

I had the recall done on my previous S10 at Wigan (that when I saw the pre reg bike I later bought) The job took about an hour so they should be able replace the stop light switch if you're picking the bike up on Friday

And after a 6am start this morning, I got to Chorley about 9.30, paid and loaded her up by just after 11am and headed home. Got back 3.30 this afternoon. Went out after tea and started fitting my accessories. Sat nav mounted, PTT and autocom power supply wired, both powered by the accessorie plug under the side panel. Givi screen fitted and top box plate. And my loveley dark blue baglux cover has improved the dull paint job on the tank no end. C445CF81-F323-4D3E-80A6-C974BD5A315F.jpeg

Can’t do much with the knuckles as they sit on the base posts underneath, but I can soften the endges. Every little helps. Now to fill the hollow in the middle. Looks a bit gash, but itll never be seen. Looking to level things up using a hard kneeler pad. Very dense foam.DCFF3BD3-6448-4D37-B43B-29E95C07F47C.jpeg
