Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new bike and returning to riding. Take a minute to fill out your profile when you have a chance. Even if you just add the location there it helps add context to your posts. :)

Welcome. I'm in Indy, also with a new S10, paid for, sitting at Dreyer, waiting for some warmer weather. Where did you buy yours? Now I am spending my time pouring over farkles. Working towards camping, maybe around Lk. Superior this Summer.

See you on the road.

I am looking over farkles as well. First thing I have to get is a top case with back rest for the Mrs. We do alot of camping so I am trying to figure out how to take the camper and the bike at the same time without getting a toy hauler (not in the budget right now). I bought mine from Fox Motorsports in Wyoming Mi. I got it on sale and saved $2k over what Dreyer wanted. Was definitely worth the 6hr round trip.

Welcome from another Hoosier.
You guys up at Indy need to plan a ride. Nice group started up there.
It would be cool to do a ride. You have SR 231 and 57 which is a nice ride south of Cloverdale. Indy is only an hour from me, so not a big deal to meet up there.
Took my S10 out for an 11 mile ride Saturday evening and was surprised at how well the stock wind screen stopped the air. I will definitely be going with a bigger screen when my wife starts riding, but the stock one works for now.

If you get up to the U.P. let me know, I'm a new owner and will be testing my '16 farkles out on paved and unpaved roads.

U.P.rider, tentative plans for 2nd/ 3rd week of July to do a trip around Lk. Superior, maybe around all the lakes. Pretty tentative on the date though, until wife decides just what she wants to do late June/ early July. I'm thinking, some motels, tent or hammock the rest of the time. I'll try to remember to give you a shout when time gets closer. Unpaved roads are fine, but as I recall, there is a lot of sandy stuff in the U.P.! Not so wild about that, with a full bike. BTW- to update this thread- I rode the bike home yesterday, sitting in the car port looking lonely at the moment. I need to clear a space in the work shop for it. Some farkles already on order!

Welcome, I just picked up a '16 from Richmond, IN. and if you are coming to U.P. let me know if I can you help find places to go.
Will do. I looked for used ones, but the sale price in December was a grand or less more then what used ones were listed for. So new was a no brainer. Actually bought it at Fox in Wyoming Mi.

Farkles are good! I just received a ACD skid plate yesterday. I will also need panniers but have time before I'll need them for long trips. I have some soft luggage that will do in the mean time. I am planning a trip back this summer to Newfoundland and adding Labrador in for good measure, but we have yet to set a date when we would go.
Yes there is a lot of sand, especially in the EUP. There are a few tricks I've learned but that was with a much lighter bike, so it will be interesting to see if they will transfer to a loaded S10.
