New member to this forum since I traded my 2011 FJR with 72k miles for a new leftover sand color 2017 Super Ten. I'm the Texas hill country with a lot of rough back country roads so really liking the bike so far. Plus a little less weight is welcomed as last year I almost dropped the FJR a couple of times; getting older...

Welcome Eddie...congrats on the new '17 Tenere, glad you found the place!

Lots of great information here and the search feature actually works well. Let me know if you have more questions as you set-up the new scoot.

Welcome. Many of us have transitioned over to the S10 from the FJR. The roomier seating position for me was a game changer. I wouldn't go back now, this bike is awesome and this Forum is great.

Welcome! I made the same move myself in October from a 2011 FJR to a 2016 S10 ES for probably the same reasons. Although old man winter came up fast and I only got to put 400 miles in it, I am happy with the move and not looking back. Many of us on here.

I had both for a while and sold the fj .After a year or so I missed that engine and picked up a 15 fjr for a steal and love having both.

Welcome aboard, have both, a 07 FJR and a 14 S-10 and enjoy both. I'm fairly new here myself and new to the S-10 and still learning about it.
Who knows maybe my mind will change but I have put 105,000 miles on FJR and she's a good friend. I'm hoping that the S-10 becomes as good of a friend!

Thank you all for the hellos and interesting how many have or had FJR's. I'm only about 400 miles on the Super Ten and so far happy I made the switch. One big plus over the FJR this bike is much easier to turn down a dirt road to find a place to stop and take a leak : ::)

Thought I should include a pic of the old FJR. Awesome machine.

Lots of former FJR owner's here...I had an 04 and an 08, but once I got the ST, it was hard to go back, even with that silky smooth 1300cc time dilation motor!

The FJR is a true Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. Nice and civilized O:) ....until you put it in "S" and twist the throttle >:D .

I love this bike more than any other one that I've owned...but at some point, I want to own one that feels like a Tomahawk cruise missile on wheels.

RC in NC, then you need to buy a FJR. I really like the ST and briefly had it to 99mph (still breaking in so taking it easy) but the FJR just cruised so easily at insane speeds. I rode the Extraterrestrial across Nevada and don't think I was ever below 100mph. The bike was just so smooth and vibration free at insane speeds. Having said this I don't know if owning one in the east would be a good idea as the speeds limits are usually lower than western USA and Canada so a FJR might get you thrown in jail...
