Hey everyone, haven't gotten a super tenere yet but hot on buying one. Where are the Wisconsin riders at? The super tenere has been my dream bike since 2012 and I'm finally at a point in life that I can pick one up.

Hey, welcome from Wisco. I'm near Brooklyn and Evansville, just a bit south of Madison. SW Wisconsin has some great riding. I know the southern-most counties pretty well, but need to spend more time a little north. The wife and I rode from our place to Black River Falls on our 250s, then took the TWT route south to the border. I know there is way more to see. Might try to do some of the TWT this year. That biker bar in Rockton (near La Farge) along the TWT serves some good chicken; got to get back.

Anyway, get the dang bike.

I live in Westby, Rockton bar is 35 minutes away let me know when you're in the area next thanks for posting. I'd prefer to get a gen 2 if I can find one. I'm happy to settle for a 13 or 12 unless someone can talk me out of it. 9k is about my budget

Welcome from Texas. I'll second the motion from your fellow Wisconsinite about going with the Gen 2. I think your budget can support it. With y'all's weather the heated grips should be mandatory.

Welcome from SE Iowa. I started back into riding by picking up a bare bones 15 ST in spring of 2019 at your budget. Great bike. It loves SW WI & NE IA “gravel twisties” ... country style. Good luck.

TWT = The Trans Wisconsin Adventure trail? Would you take a super tenere on it?

Yep, that's the trail. The half south of Black River Falls is OK for a S10. Just gravel. The northern half, going up to Lake Superior is a different story. You can always go around some areas, but the sand would be awful with the S10, regardless of tires. There's plenty of gravel for the Northern half and I think there's a route that can be done w/ 4x4 (probably most cars would be fine).

Flying to Raleigh NC Saturday to hopefully pickup a 2015 and ride back to WI. Got it with all the fixings under budget. Any red flags to look out for? The adventure begins.
