lol,
my bike was not starting every now and then, getting a pain, i thought it was battery, bike was 5 yrs old so bought a new yuasa ytz14s thinkin
that,ll sort it,
no still had issues it turned out to be corrosion on the starter solenoid just above battery, cleaned that up and wow the 14s is so much better than the 12s but my battery was still fine.

my 12s is in the garage on a optimate

Keeping a battery on a tender can mask declining capacity in a battery. Five years is generally at the end of life for a battery.

The ST tends to like a lot of power to start the bike. If you are noticing sluggish behavior, that is a good sign you are near the end.

So you have to ask yourself, are you feeling lucky?

Would you rather spend the money and replace the battery at home or try and get a jump out on the road, hopefully get home and then spend the money to replace the battery. Or have it towed to a shop and have them fit a battery on their schedule?
