My wife will be riding on the S10 with me more now that I'm selling my FJR. She's used to the Sargent seat I put on the FJR which is quite comfortable. I'm pretty satisfied with the stock seat of the Tenere however if I have to upgrade it to get her better comfort I will.

I know everyone raves about the RDL's but I'm just not in love with that look. Had the same considerations when I upgraded the FJR and end up happy with the Sargent. I'd buy another Sargent seat but I've heard they missed the mark with S10 and it detracted from the riders comfort when compared to stock.

So what are my options? And keep in mind the primary objective is the pillion seat upgrade.

Seems the RDL have the least complaints although they are huge, followed by Laam seats.....seems quite a few have good success with an airhawk for both driver and rider.....I'm about ready to try one out for longer trips . To spend all that money on a saddle and then not like it would be a real pain.Going to try and get down to Romney this year and maybe have a first hand look at different seats.

The Sargent pillion seat is very good, so my wife tells me. As as been said, the riders seat is 'ok', I use mine with an airhawk and I find that gives me enough comfort.

Best bang for the buck is a Seat Concepts kit. My wife really likes the way it fits her (standard density foam) and I like the improved feel and height of the drivers seat kit (+.5 density foam as I'm a big guy).

They are stock appearing so if you don't want the "wing" look then this might be the ticket.

If you liked the Sargent on your FJR, you should like the Sargent for the S10. I had one on my FJR and like the Gen-2 model for the S10. The color matched welt looks primo.

Are you doing this before she has said something?

Karen wanted just two changes. She wanted the seat flatter, and no matter what we ride she wants her Airhawk. The following link goes to how I made a spacer to flatten the rear seat, which she said hit the mark.

The Seat Concept recover kit has minimized her requests for the Airhawk. The funny part is that I changed it without her knowing (still doesn't) and she just thought she'd gotten used to the bike.

Thanks All. Sorry for the delayed response. Lost the tread. :-X

Yes, she's already commented that the seat isn't as comfortable as the FJR's (she's not keen on me getting rid of the FJR).

Is the Sargent passenger seat flatter than stock? Or does it also need some type of mod to level it out?

Both the rider and passenger seats are wider and flatter than stock. As long as you buy new there shouldn't be any leveling needed. If you buy used, get a Gen 2 or later.

I think this is the way I'll go. I liked the one I had on the FJR but had heard bad reviews on the gen 1 seat. I guess gen2 was a significant improvement?

Thanks! These pics are really helpful. You wouldn't happen to have one showing the seat on the whole bike would you?

We did the BMS seats. My wife's seat is quite possibly perfect. She has no complaints.

My BMS seat is pretty dang good. I've done a few 1100 mile days on it without complaint.

Resurrecting this thread to get latest opinions.
Before I buy a Wing, I’d like to explore lower passenger peg and seat options

Earlier this year I put a Touratech seat on that she finds really comfortable, much wider than the stock seat, moving the top box back a bit helped too.

same as yoyo,

moved my top box back 2 inches, plus passenger lowering pegs, plus touratech seat we can ride all day long.

I have been researching seats to replace my stock driver seat not passenger.
My preference right now is leaning towards Corbin.
Just my $.02.

I have both Corbin seats on mine. I moved the top box back 2” and my wife finds the Corbin really comfortable. I like the Corbin better than the stock one. My biggest complaint is it’s slick. At first it feels hard, yet it is more comfortable for longer miles.

Which lowering brackets are those?
I’m considering this one, but so far can only find the wider peg model for the front.
