How did you do you quick release system, I'm going to be using "pelican"-like cases and wondering how to develop a way to attach and release themI agree...that's why I made my own too!
I made it to work with a homemade quick release system for a top case....plus lots of tiedown spots for bungee cords and nets.
I don't want to hijack mnccnm's thread or detract from his excellent workmanship. If you want to see how I did the quick release, I posted some stuff on it here: https://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?threads/homemade-top-case-quick-release.26294/How did you do you quick release system, I'm going to be using "pelican"-like cases and wondering how to develop a way to attach and release them

I actually thought about using that area, but the area where the seat sits is higher and there is only about 2-1/2 inches of usable room with the top of the rack at this height. The front seat is also kind of in the way to get anything in and out, although you might fit a medium size tool roll if it wasn't too big.Very nice work, looks like a nice space for strapping on chairs/ tent poles! With the seat removed would there be space for a tool case? What size case? I may be interested.
